One game is scheduled for tonight:

#4 Villanova at Georgetown, 9pm, FS1.

Classic old school rivalry. Must see TV. Should be a packed house at the Phone Booth. Great opportunity for the Hoyas, though Josh Smith is out for the year.

I'd be surprised if Georgetown kept this close but they are home so who knows...

Curious, was there ever a reason given why Josh Smith did not have to sit out a year after his transfer from UCLA after playing six games last year. I know the NCAA evaluated the situation and gave him immediate eligibility, but was there a reason given as to why he did not have to sit out?

If that was the case, the flood gates would be wide open. Has to be something else.

I know that the NCAA allows someone to play immediately if they have graduated and are looking for a masters' program not offered by their school.

Nova is favored by 5.5 in this game, but I'm worried about this one. Gtown is obviously in a tailspin, but they'll be playing to save their season tonight at home against a top 10 team. Overall, Gtown is not a good 3-point shooting team, but they do have the #4 3-pt shooter in the conference (percentage-wise) in D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (45%). A week ago, we all saw what good shooters can do to a switching/trapping/hedging/helping Nova defense. Now, they can't beat us with just one player, but Markel Starks has also been shooting the 3 better recently and could get hot.

All signs point to a Nova victory tonight, but something just bothers me about a team that's on the ropes, playing for their season, at home against a rival ranked in the top 10. With all that said, I ultimately think Nova's depth will wear down Gtown in a hard fought game. Nova pulls away and covers with free throws down the stretch, 73-65.

Substitute the word Gtwn with Marq, SJU or Seton Hall and you've just described the same Game preview of Nova's last 3 away games.

Pick them up full court and make Starks and DSR work hard on. Oth ends of the floor and I think this is a convincing VU win. Road wins are not easy in this conf so a W vs a depleted Gtwn team would be very welcomed regardless of score.
Go Nova!
