Tues 1/14 BE Game Thread (2 Games).

Postby billyjack » Mon Jan 13, 2014 8:55 am

Monday is an off day, as we recover from the CU-XU battle royale.
Tuesday has two entertaining games:

St John's at DePaul, 7pm, FS1.
Butler at Creighton, 9pm, FS1.

- At 7pm, it's the Big Apple at Second City... flat Neopolitan Pizza at Chicago Deep Dish...
- St John's has had the most difficult schedule so far, and faces a running, frenetic confident DePaul team.
- Good opportunity for the Johnnies to get their sea legs back.
- DePaul has played well in all 3 games, including a ballsy comeback at Butler.
- St John's returns home on Thursday for a matchup vs Providence.

- Butler has 3 ot losses at home. The Dawgs could easily be 3-1.
- Tough schedule sends BU to a packed C-Link in Omaha.
- Creighton is the closest thing to Bo Kimble's Loyola Marymount... fearless, able to shoot 3's from anywhere and by anyone... always looking to run... the Jays will definitely be ranked today in all polls...

Must see tv on Tuesday night. Have a good meal Monday and get some rest, because Tuesday will be edge-of-your-seat exciting.

I'm sorry but no one is like Loyola Marymount. We'll never see that kind of team again. They were just on a totally different level of speed(kind of like the movie Spaceballs- ludicrous speed) than anyone has ever been.

(btw, a game between Creighton and LMU may have gone into the 170's)

Creighton shouldn't have a problem Tuesday but for some reason it seems like Butler is due for something good to happen

Short turnaround for Creighton, plus coming off of a battle with a conference leader, makes this a quintessential trap game for Creighton. Hopefully they don't fall in that trap.

Butler is a wounded animal trapped in a corner. This is a scary game in my book.

As much as I would like to see Butler get their first win, I would much rather see Creighton get and stay ranked.

This.

Although hopefully we have enough experience on this team to be focused and realize just how crucial this game is. The Jays most certainly get into both polls solidly today -- can't let down and lose a home game to an 0-4 conference team (even if it's the best 0-4 conference team anywhere, by far) immediately. That would be disaster.
