Because I know you all miss the VCU posts...according to the NCAA's website on their "6th Fan" contest, VCU is a Big East team.

Weird, they should have listed VCU at least 3 times, and Dayton once.

Lol...this is the most random ranking for popularity...Bryant and UNC Greensboro among the top 25...wtf? Just goes to show it doesn't measure anything accurately.

There have been some hints that there would be 2 more teams added. If that is true I think St. Louis is definitely #11. They have really put a lot of effort into their program and I think adding them will only help. #12 is more of a question mark. Obviously if Gonzaga wasn't so friggin' far away, they would be an obvious choice, but I just think location wise they don't make sense and would make us look like we are stretching to be good. I think right now, #12 would be VCU, but without doing a Google search I really don't know much about VCU's basketball history and don't know if Shaka Smart leaving would lead to them being mediocre. I really like the idea of St. Louis in the Big East, but to go to 12, we really need to make a good decision on who that twelfth team is.

Villanova fan here by the way.

Bryant is the 3rd or 4th most popular team in the smallest state in the nation (PC, URI, Brown/Bryant).

I think that's just a matter of certain schools making more of an effort to get out the vote.

Like Butler with Stevens, VCU is having its best years ever with Shaka Smart, but the program has been good for awhile.
