In a way though- it's great for them for getting more bids quite frankly. Cincy is now 13-2 and well on their way to getting a bid. SMU now 11-3 with a huge win as well. Memphis and UConn still 10-3 and 11-3 and well on their ways to getting bids. Right now, end of year they would probably have 5 bids(SMU on the bubble right now). On Thursday's bracketology they had 3 safely in- and Cincy was one of the last 4 in with a bye.

The cincy win helps xavier's resume.

Uconn is really not that good. They may struggle to make the tournament.

Temple is also in disaster mode right now.

The american conference is in a lot of trouble. Bunch of schools that are unhappy to be in the conference, no media tv money, poor media exposure, huge travel expenses, little national interest or hype.

My god did we make the right move leaving that mess.

poor media exposure? Are you serious? Where was the Cincy/Memphis game? ESPN 2. UConn/SMU? ESPNU. Saying they have poor media exposure is a complete and utter joke. Their TV deal didn't get them a lot of money- but got them good to very good tv exposure. It's a joke to say anything but. It's a very decent basketball conference and they will get 4-5 teams in the tourney easily.

After suffering two losses in Texas, I'm sure the UConn message board is in total meltdown mode. I take pleasure in that fact. But yeah, the AAC will get 4-5 bids to the tournament this year.

The aac has very poor media exposure. Uconn and memphis have some games televised, the rest of that conference is burried on espn news and espn3. Terrible situation.

At this point the espn inventory is so overflooded, unless you are one of the marquee teams you might as well not even exist. This is true even for the acc and big ten. The poor aac teams are never televised unless you are playing uconn or memphis (or louisville for this year).

where was Butler/Xavier this afternoon?

And shows how poorly informed you are. NONE of the AAC games are shown on ESPN 3 exclusively. ALL 90 conference games are on TV- and none on regional networks.

I completely disagree with you. That aac deal is terrible. Heavy doses of espnu and espn news games. Only games with memphis and uconn (and this year louisville) get on the main network.

I am not one of the aac haters on this board. I think they will have a couple teams rise above and make the tournament every year the way cincy did out of old conference usa. I think uconn stays in the national eye, and that memphis remains good (cincy is iffy, and temple appears to be in serious trouble). But make no mistake about it, we are VERY fortunate to have split off from that mess. It really is a disaster in terms of money and exposure.

I watched xavier v butler on television today. I enjoyed it. You must have missed it.
