I really struggled this week. Xavier, Providence, Marquette, Georgetown, Villanova - could make a case for any order between 2-6.

So SHU easily handles a Monmouth team that SJU struggled with later, loses a game we mostly dominated by 1 against a good OU team, and then bounce back the next day and beat VT, yet no movement in the rankings. Preseason bias maybe?

Who are you going to move down? That's the problem and it's a good problem to have - too many good teams (or so it seems).

Seton Hall actually went down. I'm stating this off memory, but I believe this was the first time DePaul got some #9 votes.

If we are just talking about from last week, how is BU beating Ball st by 1 and going to OT at home against Vandy better than the 3 games SHU played and SJU's didn't look good against the same team we played and even though they won against a good Bucknell team it was at home. SHU looked good in 2 neutral court games and won it's only home game handily. Not to mention we had this week's BE rookie of the week in Sina..

I will admit the Adua injury effects us big time going forward, but last week was better for SHU than people realize IMO.

You have to take into consideration that we haven't even been using Jordan our 5 star PG. We are also just trying things out on offense…we weren't trying to blow teams out. That's on Lavin. He uses cupcakes in season and treats them like exhibitions. That's why lots of our games are close. We are not the kind of team that gets a 20 pt lead then steps on mid major's throats. We will put in walk-ons and let the team back in the game at the end to give the other guys some burn. When we won by 10 we literally did not even try to go inside. We just chucked up 3's all game and missed a ton, and still won by 10. You know if we try to get inside all game that's a 20 pt win. Our defense once switched to zone and made Bucknell look like NJIT when they lost 30 games a few yrs ago. The talent is obvious…it's just a matter of chemistry and finding our 3 pt shot. We haven't even let Jordan off his leash yet. We can play with any team in the country when we are all clicking. Not sure you can say the same about SHU just being honest. SHU's time to shine is most likely when IW comes, not really this year. Keep in mind we won an exhibition (team just as bad as Longwood) by 60 pts. SHU just doesn't have that talent that makes you say "Wow…they could go places if things go right". I do like what I saw from Sina. He can be a beast.

SHU is 4-2 and has not faced a ranked opponent yet. SJ played Wisc. tough and they are now the #12 team and rising. In fact, many think that if Lavin just tinkered with our defensive scheme, we had a real shot of winning that game. At the end of the day the potential for SJ is through the roof. For SHU you guys need to wait for IW to arrive before you have any kind of big expectations.
Let's Go Johnnies!

I'm not knocking SJU or BU. I'm just trying to address the fact that polls usually move based on how they originally assumed to be before even one game was played. (preseason bias). Also when you say "SHU is 4-2...." you miss the whole point of why this is a weekly power ranking.

It's not a weekly power ranking in the sense that we're ranking a team on the results of that week only. We're ranking the entire conference once weekly just as the AP poll does.
