BE Games:

Grambling @ #17 Marquette 7:00 p.m. EST FS1
Tennessee @ Xavier 9:00 p.m. EST FS1

Other games of interest:

#2 Mich St. vs #1 UK 7:30p est
#5 Kansas vs #4 Duke 9:30p est
#11 Florida vs #20 Wisc 9:00p est
#14 VCU vs #24 Virginia 7:00p est

Tennessee is basically ranked #27 in both polls so if X beats them it helps clear some room for BE teams to get into or closer to a top25 ranking. Also I wonder if FS1 is going to realize cbb games shouldn't be scheduled back to back using 2 hr time slots. ESPN can do this b/c they typically push games to alternate channels to get around this issue. Go Big East!

X could be without 4 perimeter rotation players tonight so things could get interesting. Never good when a former Walk-On Power Forward could be starting at the 3 spot.

For those of us unaware, what's the story?

Why is X without 4 players tonight? This is a big game for the BE...hoping X can take down the Vols.

By the way - CU starts a walkon...no big deal...just sayin'

Dee Davis has a concussion, hasn't played since Musketeer Madness
Justin Martin apparently may have a concussion, left early against Gardner-Webb
Landen Amos, walk-on who gets occasional minutes at the 2/3 as a defensive stopper tore his MCL and is out another 4 - 5 weeks
Myles Davis apparently tweaked his surgically repaired knee early against Gardner-Webb and didn't return

Mack has kept extremely quiet to keep Tennessee guessing and closed practice yesterday but I think the only one that MIGHT play would be Myles. The potential concussion cases with Martin and Dee are worrisome as they each had concussions last year as well.

Luckily the interior depth should still be there but going to need big games from Semaj and Randolph, and most importantly no hand checks or foul trouble from them.

Xavier (-2) is always a tough out at home. That being said, with Tennessee's experience and talent, would be hard to bet against the VOLS.

Obviously big game for the Muskies against a potential tournament team. Really need both Davis' to play. Their presence on the floor sets up Christon. Miles opens up the court with his long range shooting ability. Need Dee to take some ball handling pressure off of Semaj.

Last years matchup in Knoxville was as slugfest-ish as it gets, 51-47 UT.

Very difficult to get a feel for this X team as of yet.

Go X

You guys might want to consider dropping the boxing portion of your practices. I know it's a great overall fitness tool, but if your guys are getting concussions they are going too hard :D (sorry, couldn't resist).

Tennessee is a good team, so this Xavier game is huge for the Big East... this is a good benchmark game... not a disaster if X loses, but one of those games we'll hopefully be able to point to in a couple of months as a solid BE win... Go get 'em XU...!

---> "Just win baby...!" <---

Or at least keep the contact below the shoulder pads and above the knees...strike zone!

Marquette goes over 100+ and wins easy. Here's hoping Xavier can get an SEC scalp.
