Gary Parrish & some other CBS writers put this list together and even though having Doug Mcd is #1 is a great pick I don't know how they believe there are 28 other bigs better than Davante Gardner. Didn't he see that coast to coast in the NCAA's last year. Yet he says he expects Gardner to be 1st team All-BE- that's no respect for the league. Where's Batts, Obekpa, maybe Orlando Sanchez, I would even rank O'tule over some on that list.

Everyone saw his coast to coast. That's why he isn't on the list, he's a guard obviously.

McDermott was ranked a 3 star and 28th in his position, now he's the #1 big in the nation?

Was he ranked lower coming out of HS due to bias because he's white or just under the radar? Either way goes to show there are diamonds in the rough out there.

I think these lists are slanted way too much towards freshman. A lot of them may be highly rated coming into college, but there aren't really that many that make enough of an impact that they should be considered one of the best 100 players in the country.

McDermott was overshadowed by Harrison Barnes, his high school teammate. He had offers from UNI, UCF and Creighton. His dad didn't think he was a high major player.

Doug himself at media day said he didn't think he was a high major player back then either.
