On Wednesday, Creighton will be putting out a new standard logo. They are building this up as a big event to go along with the basketball open house at the CenturyLink Center. For those still learning about the Bluejays, here is a wonderful breakdown of the history of the Creighton logo and its use over the years.

I think an update logo is well-deserved and needed. I've never known if the Creighton's primary logo is the "Jays" script on the basketball, the actual Blue Jay, or if they've never really deciphered which is primary and which is secondary.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Great article. I like the Billy Bluejay guy. Hopefully they don't go with an overly agressive computer-looking bird, like Toronto did in the late 00's.

Funny to see how the logos change with the times. It looks like the 1941 was a design that they kept going back to thru the years as 1955 was a huge step back as was the 1970 Bruce Lee inspired Bluejay. Hopefully they stick with what works and not give it a Miley Cyrus haircut because that's cool this year.

The court is being unveiled soon - I sure hope we didn't do anything crazy or ugly.

I really like the new one I hope they don't abandon the old one though it still looks good but the new one is definitely a great modern look not a bad use of that extra money from the new conference. Hopefully Nike will bring Creighton's jerseys up to date soon. They look a little 1998.

What is it with side profiles of animal mascots? Marquette' Golden Eagle in 2003 was great, but then they wanted a stupid "mean-looking" head. At least we pretty much abandon it for the MU. Creighton should have stuck with Billy the Bluejay. You don't see KU moving away from their Jayhawk anytime soon. Updating, sure, but not abandoning it. Does look different than the Toronto Bluejay?

Meh another generic pissed off bird. I must say that I prefer the bird in the sweater as well just because its unique.

I can't see Creighton doing one of those Oregon inspired courts, I hope they keep it neat and simple.
