Creighton homer but I voted for CU here. I think we'll be 3rd or 4th.

I really wanted to go Georgetown here but my gut told me Creighton. I never go against my gut.

I voted for Georgetown. Too many questions regarding this year's roster. With Porter gone and Whittington injured, some of the other forwards better step up. And will Josh Smith be able to contribute at the center position.

G'Town always seems to finish higher than their preseason BE ranking. They have great guards, and even with the injuries and even with losing porter they have forwards that any team would be happy with. I'm going with Marquette due to their youth (although Marquette always did better than their rankings too)

Here's something to think about. Listed below are the number of players on each team's roster who were 4-star players or better coming out of high school and how many are freshmen this year:

Georgetown - 7 total, 1 freshman
Marquette - 6 total, 3 freshmen
Creighton - 0 total

Here are the same numbers for some of the teams that have already been ranked lower in this poll:

St. John's - 6 total, 1 freshman
Villanova - 6 total, 2 freshmen
Xavier - 6 total, 1 freshmen
Providence - 3 total, 1 freshman

Star ratings are fromRivals and Scout.

I count 6 on Marquette. Probably missing Jamil since he was a transfer. (Juan, Taylor, Deonte, JaJuan, Duane, Jamil).

For something like this though, you should probably just use Top 100 RSCI as it eliminates the variations from one ranking to another: http://www.rscihoops.com/

Agreed with what you say. But when there are 5 guys on the court, and 1 is a 2 time all-American, that makes a huge difference. I think McDermott will see forwards who are faster and stronger than what he saw last year, and the forwads off the bench will be just as fast and strong. But he will still be the best guy in the league putting up 20+ points a game.

Yes, I did miss Jamil. Thanks for catching it.

That's the great thing about the Internet, you don't have to be perfect. Someone else will always offer a constructive edit. I'll edit my original post.

Good info but overlooks JUCO transfers we are typically heavily reliant on them. Jimmy Butler was a JUCO transfer for us now he is doing well in the NBA. Jameel Mckay should do well for us this year he was a two time JUCO all american
