The 50 million exit may not hold up in court as Maryland awaits the final verdict. Once the verdict is in and cost is way lower then the orginal 50 million fee, it will be, on your mark, get ready, and go, for the B12, SEC, and B12 to raid the ACC. Yes, 'Louisville, Syracuse and Pitt are all leaving the Big East as stated. However, what happens when the ACC loses up to 8 teams? There has been even talk about Syracuse being courted by the Big Ten and Louisville to B12. What would be the incenitive for Notre Dame to still join a conference with no future stability? I also would not be surprise if Dame has an out clause just like San Diego had with the Big East in the event if certain schools leave. Rumor schools to be leaving the ACC are North Carolina, Virgina, Gtech and possibly cuse to the B10. Florida St. Louisville, Miami and Virgina Tech to B12. And finally, NCST, Duke, and perhaps Clemson to the SEC. The Duke part would be to help increase the conference academic ratings. There was also talk about both DUKE and North Carolina joining together to the SEC and stay south. It should be interesting to see what happens with Carolina since the Comish of the B10 is a carolina graduate. If the aforementioned happens, you know there are going to be scbools that get left out in the cold. Perhaps the remaining ACC schools merge with the B7 or just leave altogether. Once court ruling is completed with Maryland, its going to be very interesting indeed.
