He makes a good point that ESPN is in a lot of trouble for long-term contracts do to cord-cutting. But frankly, its long overdue. The Sports bubble is insane and its about time the money comes down to reality levels.

"I'm not trying to be alarmist here, but the simple fact is this -- I don't see how ESPN's business model makes sense at all by 2021."

Hello Life Cycle Phase Four.

I don't think leagues are going to divorce the channels altogether. They stand to make more money partnering with a FOX or ESPN. ESPN will eat the value of their long-term contracts. But after that they will simply pay the leagues less money.

but you see- what was said here proves my point. Fenway Friar included the World Series Pre/Post games as why this was so good for FS1. Reality was that it didn't help much at all. More folks turned to ESPN post game than FS1.

First Take's ratings are down, ESPN moving it from ESPN2 to ESPN.

Gavitt Games ad was shown during the Cowboys @ Steelers game on FOX. Good to be back into the swing of things.

FS1 and Fox’ combined average for CFB games to date is 1.21 million viewers, up 7% from the same point across the two networks last year (1.13 million). Games on the Fox broadcast channel are averaging 2.05 million viewers, down 10% from last year’s 2.3 million. FS1 has helped make up the difference, as games on the cable net are averaging 782,000 viewers, up 22% from 640,000 last year at this time.

Tuesday:
ESPN:
CFP Rankings Show: 2.651 million
Duke/Kansas: 2.36M
Kentucky/Mich St: 2.083M

FS1:
Wisc/Creighton: 405K
Md-Georgetown: 271K

Still hard to beat CFP.

its a shame probably the 2 best ooc games of the year for FS1 get engulfed by the Champions Classic.

Big number for ESPN. Totally blows that FS1 had a sexy doubleheader going up vs the bluebloods. That being said, FS1 had a solid night. Wisconsin and Creighton was much higher than i would have guessed.
