The windows for college football in September on FS1 was limited with MLB, golf, UFC, racing. The windows improve for here out. The Big Ten games on FOX has pushed games in the PAc-12 and Big 12 in years past on FOX to FS1. The Nebraska at Illinois which was not a major game this past Friday, had over a million viewers on FS1 Also, I think most on the board have been talking about the 30 plus Big Ten basketball games on FS1, not football.

The thing now is that we know everything thru October 14. After that, there's only 6 weeks left. And we know some stuff already past then based on earlier selections. One thing- ESPN has in weeks 10-12 2 of the 3 top selections for those weeks.

The lineup for Fox/ESPN has been extremely close....
ESPN top game picks- Ohio St/Indiana, Oklahoma/Ohio St, Michigan St/Michigan, Michigan/Penn St
Fox top game picks- Army/Ohio St, Notre Dame/Michigan St, Iowa/Michigan St, Ohio St/Nebraska, Penn St/Ohio St, Ohio St/Michigan

3 top picks left, and ESPN gets 2 of them. 1 will almost certainly be on Nov 18 when Michigan plays Wisconsin going to ESPN.

Also I would argue that Big Fox has just created more game slots on their air rather than moving games over... I mean we're right now thru 5 weeks. Last year Big Fox had shown all of 5 games. This year, they've shown 10.

Individual basketball games won't matter as much as you would think. Doing a quick count, it's 22 conference games on FS1. Of the OOC games, the only decent one that is guaranteed to be on FS1 is Kansas/Nebraska. Only other possible one is Marquette/Wisconsin(and that could be on Fox). So not exactly a lot of great matchups on FS1. Now, better than what FS1 used to show- but still- not enough to make a huge difference.
Butler at Maryland & Xavier at Wisconsin are two other FS1 Big Ten Selections missing on the Big Ten release.

The Big Ten games will really matter on FS1. Most Big Ten games on FS1 fall on Monday and Fridays. Which is slower nights in hoops. Some others on Sunday. Some with Pac-12 games on Thursday's. Most games is when football is over during a 9 week period. Many huge conference games as the league looks 7 to 9 tournament teams deep. Big East Schedule will look the same.

FS1 MLB Sunday Schedule is Houston at Boston at 2:30 & Cleveland at New York at 7:30pm.

It good that MLB Network got two day games on a Thursday and Friday. FS1 got the better end of the deal. The Thursday afternoon void get filled in with World Cup Qualifying Soccer.

the problem with this stat though is that there's been 5 more games on Big Fox than last year. And that of course makes a huge difference...

For the true year to year numbers.... the apples to apples comparison
on Big Fox-
2017- 11 games for a 2.759 million avg
2016- 5 games for a 2.549 mil avg

so 6 more games. and up by 8.2%

on FS1-
2017- 14 games for a 773k avg
2016- 11 games for a 687k avg

so FS1 has been up by about 12.5%.

So if people showed that I'd respect that a whole lot more.

It'll be interesting to see how baseball impacts this the next few weeks.

I do think it's interesting that the number of broadcast windows goes up. 20 last year up to 34 this year. That's a huge jump up.

It's also interesting this column was done this week. Because this week last year was Oklahoma/Texas on FS1 which drew 2.788 million viewers as 1 of 2 games. The average on FS1 after this week last year was 823k viewers. You know Fox knew this and wanted to get out in front of that.

Total viewing with the additional games this year (24 this year vs. 16 last year on Fox/FS1 to date) is up almost 98%. Fox’ share of the CFB TV market also has more than doubled from last year (18.5% vs. 8.5%).

Glad you can put your own spin numbers out there that you respect. You use an odd set of words. Anybody can spin numbers. Just like your hacks at the WWL.

CLE/NYY Game 3 brought in 5.294M viewers. Most watched broadcast on the network since LAD/CHC Game 6 last year.

The game peaked from 10:45-10:58 PM ET with 6,987,000 viewers on FS1.

2.339M for HOU/BOS Game 3 on FS1 as well.

And a devastating night tonight. US knocked out of the World Cup. Going to put a huge dent in next summers World Cup. Amazing that there was 1 scenario out of 27 possible outcomes tonight that would knock out the US. and that's what happened.
