Hopefully the semifinals on Friday night that were so incredible got better ratings. I'm kind of guessing the fact the game was such a blowout and felt so anti-climatic had something to do with it.

as a comparison- last years Creighton/Providence game same source had a 0.42 rating. Part of that- the game it was going up against- Big 12- only had a 1.2 rating. This year we get a 0.28 rating, and the game going up against- ACC had a 2.31 rating.

Last year according to Sports Media Watch, Providence - Creighton was 0.5 702k

I knew it would be a problem going up versus the ACC.

Didn't help that ESPN acts like the Big East Tournament didn't happen, words from Stewart Mandel.

Should the Big East Tournament Final be on FOX next year?

I'm guessing your number is the final number. The 0.42 I was using was the overnight from last year.

Yeah going up vs ACC isn't going to be easy, and then the fact that the game wasn't all that close at all didn't help matters whatsoever- while the ACC had a very close final.

about should the Big East final be on Fox network next year- that's a real interesting question. From big east perspective, it's an easy yes. But from a FS1 perspective, why move what should be the #1 game of the year off of FS1? Also afraid a far more likely game getting moved to Fox would be the Pac 12 title game.

FS1's top five shows last week all were from NASCAR. Big East final averaged 414,000 viewers.

Katie Nolan's "Garbage Time" debut averaged a respectable 99,000 viewers Sunday night on FS1.

Blowouts severely hurt ratings, especially when there is a competitive competing game going on at the same time on another network. I am a huge Big East homer and even I switched stations when it got ugly. I imagine many others, especially those with more of a casual interest, did likewise.

Maybe we can make NASCAR a division 1 sport?

Who gives a shit what the ratings were? Of course the ACC had much better ratings, thats where casual viewers tune into to. We had the better atmosphere and better crowds at our tournament compared to the ACC and AAC. Our fans show up for games while theirs sit in their double wides watching on TV.
