doesn't hurt

Agreed. Every huge viewership event for FS1 further solidifies the channel & helps it in its push to be an ESPN-like default for casual viewers. As expressed before, as long as Fox is seeing enough success with the channel as a whole to continue the project, the BE will be valuable to the network as live content to fill the time.

With Iowa/Indiana, Kentucky/Georgia & West Virginia/Kansas all on ESPN and ESPN2, I was glad FS1 got over 120k for both games.

It's funny that St. John's at Georgetown got 79k on FS1 and the rematch on CBS got well over a million viewers.

1 thing about TV is luck...

going into the season- and even moreso early in the season- tonight's Colorado/Washington game on FS1 looked like an awesome game. Colorado coming off a NCAA appearance, and Washington was as high as #13 early in the year. But now- it's 15-13 Washington hosting 13-15 Colorado. Washington 4-13 last 17 games, and Colorado 4-10 last 14 games.

I might disagree with stever on a lot of things, but he is right about FS1. Val made a big mistake committing to Fox. I don't know if the money we are making offsets the lost of publicity. Just personally, I hate that Big East is pretty much out of the public eye during conference play. Here is to hoping FS1 gets it into overdrive soon.

Just think about your statement. I was glad FS1 got over 120k for both games. Something isn't right there.

I think also you look year to year...

last year March 4, we had a Big East DH on FS1. Tuesday night same as this year..
Creighton/Georgetown- 168k viewers
Providence/Marquette- 175k viewers

So it appears as if we regressed that day. from about a 171.5k average down to a 132.5k average. That's a pretty big drop- about a 22.7% drop from last year.

So, do you want 250k per school like the Atlantic 10? Or a football/basketball 2 million like the AAC and be on ESPNU and ESPN NEWS. I'm glad to be on FS1 with great tv crews and 4 million per school.

So tell me Mr. Stever20 what is wrong with my statement that you are taking to the literal lines?

I think we could easily have gotten 2 million per school from ESPN. And just stop the idiocy with ESPNU and ESPNews. UConn has been on ESPN and ESPN2 more this year than they were with the Big East.

That basically you are making excuses for Fox. There is no way in the world to spin what should have been one of the top 10 conference games of the year getting only 127k as a good thing. None. The Fox "exposure" is pathetic. For that night we regressed 22.7% from last season. That's not good.
