Don't care about Dayton's fanbase. Don't care about UD. Don't care to re-open expansion discussion when there is none. Don't care what you do in your spare time. You're posting on the BE board. We discuss BE happenings here. Thanks for dropping by.

The bottom line is that St. Louis makes perfect sense as the 11th team. The 12th team is a debate. If Gonzaga was not located on the other side of the country they would be a great 12th and would round out an awesome hoops league. I don't think Richmond deserves this conference, they haven't done anything I know of, it might as well be St. Joe's. I'd rather take Dayton to be honest and I'm not sold on them either. We stay at 10 until a 12th team stands out and makes sense. Sucks for St. Louis but we can't be hasty about it.

The thing that is interesting is watching the AAC schedule- 11 teams can be a huge help for getting teams in. AAC has 4 top teams and they all play each other 2x. They then each avoid one of the other 7 teams one home/one away. So top teams SOS is stronger, and bottom teams have 2 fewer games against top teams and more games with bottom teams. So 5th place team gets 12 games against 6-11 and 6 games against 1-4. Helps them get a 11-7 conference record which could get them in the tourney with a decent OOC schedule- or 12-6 and they are in the tourney almost for sure.

Only bad thing about 11 is a bye each round of the schedule. Can't ever have all 11 teams in conference action the same day.
