Honest question, why hasn't Creighton gotten further in Tourney with this squad?

Mid major seeding. 8 and 7 seeds are nightmare second round match ups. North Carolina 2 years ago with Barnes and Duke last year with coach K sitting in Wragge's lap and we didn't have Brooks to try to counter that with some sort of slashing threat. If we can keep this up we are hoping to get into the 6 or better area and see what happens from there.

Didn't stop lehigh, norfolk state, ohio, george mason, butler, vcu, fgcu, or davidson in the past.

Butler has a long history of upsets on the road. Remember they played in the Horizon for years and the only quality games to be had were on the road and they won many.
Prediction: Butler 75 Creighton 69, sending the Omaha fans back to their farms with there heads down.

Really? You pick the 8 examples of lightning in a bottle as an argument as to why Creighton couldn't beat the number 1 UNC and Coach K and Duke? I guess I'll counter that with the 200+ mid-majors or even high majors that have lost to UNC and Duke and Kansas and Louisville that were lower seeds.

I had more than 8 I just didn't wanna type anymore. But the point of that post was that you guys are a legit team playing those guys but didn't manage. I don't really care either way, y'all do as good as you can.

We are/were a legit team who gave both of those aforementioned teams all they wanted in second round games. We didn't pull it out as most 7 and 8 seeds don't. It's a match-up issue and you know that. Statistically the odds are greatly against Creighton at that point.

Creighton shoots ridiculously well. One of our biggest weaknesses is defending the 3 pt shot. I'm honestly interested to see how much Creighton can score vs. SJ because they do exactly what SJ can't defend at one of the best rates in the country. Would not be shocked to see a 30 pt loss in their house. The thing that scares me about Creighton though is next season. I think lots of Creighton fans will realize they were spoiled rotten these past 4 years with him on the team. Add Gibbs to that mix. We will see how the recruiting goes. I hope they do well but I'm just scared they will fall off once their studs from all the past 4 yr top 25 teams are gone. Doug will leave a gaping hole there. Enjoy it while you can Jays fans…please don't take this as a knock I'm being genuine. I've learned over the years to never take winning teams for granted. The Knicks were terrible almost my entire life then last season they were actually pretty good and I remember watching every game to take it in, knowing they may suck for another decade right after. Creighton is a very fun team to watch because of how well they shoot, and I definitely think they can do big damage in the tourney.

If I were you Lavinwood, I'd be a lot more concerned with St Johns ineptitude than Creighton's future prospects.

We will probably take a small step back next year. DM is DM. But our two great point guards are back, as are our two best bigs, a very good two in Dingman, a very good set of redshirts, and two special freshman. Leon Gilmore continues our Texas pipeline--I think he will be scary good. My prediction is some bumps early, but then they start to click. We have the best facilities in the BE, a great coaching staff and AD, and the Clink has become the toughest venue to play. The crowds have been simply amazing. Please do yourself a favor and come.

Sorry. Nobody fills MC Dermott's shoes. He's 40% of the offense, and when teams double up, somebody else has an easy shot or drive. Get ready for a crash back to reality.
