Where were the DePaul fans last night? Announced attendance was at 5,800, but actual was far less. Or were the fans disguised as empty seats? Bad for Fox TV and bad PR for the Big East.

Hopefully will improve when they move to the city. The current location is really a tough spot for students, etc.

Seriously, would YOU fight rush hour traffic to go watch a team that's 58-130 over the past 6 seasons play Southern Miss on a Wednesday night?

Why aren't they playing these games at McGrath? At least it would be mostly full, and with a much better atmosphere with the students. All State could be used for Wichita State, Arizona State, Marquette, Creighton, Georgetown, and maybe Butler and Xavier (their fans travel), but play the rest on campus.

Wichita is in KC not a home game.

They generally sell more than 3,000 tickets, even if only 2,500 fans show up. DePaul still gets revenue from those tickets, whether there are butts in seats or not. The environment is less of a priority for the university. Aside from that, there's no guarantee that the same number of people will show up when you move games to an on campus arena, and recruiting will sometimes suffer as well. Look at UW-Milwaukee. 2 years ago they sold a little over 3,000 tickets per game. They decided to move to the on campus arena since it seated a little over 3,000 people. The crappy arena pissed off a lot of season ticket holders, who didn't renew, and dropped the overall average to 2,000 fans per game. If I were DePaul I would wait out the new arena and move then, calling it an advance to a state-of-the-art facility, rather than a retreat back to campus.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

getting into the Lincoln Park campus is a pain in the butt as well. Parking is hell and add in the Chicago Snow, best to just stay where you are and watch it on TV.

Plus the BE had minimum amount of seats that an arena had to hold in order to host BE games. I don't know what the minimum is I think it's 5,000 since Carneseca is an option at St. John's. I know McDonough isn't an option for Georgetown since it only hold 2,500 on a good day. Presumably this limit is still in effect. Not sure how much McGrath holds.

P.S. We really need Kris Dunn to get healthy.

Agree just win, also did you hear I guess before the game Ed Cooley said he may be back in few weeks, I'm happy to eat crow on the info I heard (that he was done) even though that was simply passed on info, I don't really care. Happy as he'll if he comes back.

No need to apologize dmac... i like reading your posts, and in the end, you still may end up being right (hopefully not)...
