We should invite Syracuse fans to hang out at MSG. They'll probably head over there anyway on their own. How pissed must they be... the Orangemen are out of the ACCT before the Big East has even tipped off in midtown.
So Syracuse has an RPI of 85 right now. They're 2-8 on the road, with the wins being at NC State and Clemson. They're 6-8 vs the Top 50, but all 6 wins were at home.
Common opponents with say Xavier:
both SU and XU went 1-0 vs Wake and Clemson.
Xavier swept both St John's and Georgetown, so 4-0.
Syracuse 0-2 vs SJU and GU.

You can just eliminate RPI as a metric going forward if they get in.....
This might make the move to a KenPom permanent. KenPom had Cuse at 44.

It better not. Making KenPom the primary NCAA selection criteria would ruin the regular season as it would make actual game results meaningless. You may as well rush the court to celebrate that 1 point loss to Villanova because it'll boost your KenPom ranking nearly as much as 1 point win! So who really cares that you lost? Ken Pomeroy himself said his system shouldn't be used for NCAA selection, with the exception of comparing mid-majors with few opportunities for big wins to major conference teams.
NCAA Tournament selections should be made based on results - wins and losses. Not based on scoring efficiency.

This is such an ideal situation for us... I'm sure the ACC was counting on Cuse fans to attend in droves if they progressed in the tourney. Out early...no Cuse fans sticking around. Beautiful.
If we want to keep the ACC away from NYC, having them have a less than stellar showing in Brooklyn would be fantastic. And let's all be brutally honest, Brooklyn is not Manhattan.
