Way to go Creighton! I had a feeling that the home court would be enough. BE, only loss on the road at a top 25.... Keep it up!!!

As far as a court storm?! A good basketball program, that was ranked all last year, with the AA best player. Is NOT rushing the court, on a Wed. of the 2nd week, after beating the #18 team at home. Winning at home should be expected as is coming back in the second half at home.

About the "court storming": The Blue Crew and Jays Dancers always go on the court following a game, but security guards and ushers are placed right in front of the student section just before the end of the game to ensure no one makes it on the court. Having said that, if the students really wanted to, they could have broken onto the floor, given how many there were, but did not.

A number of you root for teams that that haven't been truly relevant as great college basketball programs for over a decade. And yet you criticize the fans of one of the "New 3" for showing their happiness and pride in celebrating a win over a highly rated P-5 team when their own team was picked to finish 9th in the pre-season Big East Poll.

Why do you think Butler, Creighton, and Xavier were selected to bring this Conference to 10? It sure as hell wasn't to shine the shoes of, and pay homage at the shrines of, the C-7. Two of those three teams finished as high or higher than all but one of the C-7 in their very first year in the Conference. The other was just a couple of years away from having reached the Final Four twice. Instead of being critical of the fans of Creighton (who happen to attend their team's games at twice the numbers as most of your fans), you who are critical of their love and support of the Jays should take a look in the mirror and find there someone who has no right to exact such criticism.

In retrospect, perhaps you are being critical because you have forgotten how elated fans can get upon realizing true on-court success by your favorite Big East team. For that, we Butler, Creighton, and Xavier fans feel for your years of misery.

I guess this post will qualify me to occupy a place in the "douch bag" gallery! I don't care --- it needed to be said.

I need a cigarette after reading that.

+1
Although, many older BE fans have been very welcoming and positive. They have vision. Give it time and wins will surely help C,B,X feeling more respected.

Strange. Court storming and the players and coach act like they beat a #1 team? They need to start acting like they've been here before. Just another day in the office.

In all fairness though, creighton played a hell of a game and deserve to celebrate. Start acting like a big shot and act like games like this are common place well then it's going to hurt bad when they start losing to teams they're not suppose to lose too.

They came back from 17 to win the game at home in front of a packed house against a ranked opponent. If that doesn't get your blood pumping then theres something wrong with you.

Butler, Creighton, Xavier, I really speak for probably many when I say no one wants hostility between the C7 and you guys. We are all very happy you are all here, and hope the big east continues to improve. Last night was a great win for the bluejays and also the conference. St. John's also won against LIU last night 66-53 so the big east continues to only have one loss.

There are some tough games coming up for just about every team in the conference, and it will be interesting to see how we fair. Good luck to everyone and remember we are all in this together, there should be no hostility between us (well until we start playing each other ;) )

my gosh I agree with Redman. I'd repeat it's their 1st real game without the best player in Creighton history and to come back the way they did- just huge. If you don't get excited for that, something is wrong with you.

That was a great win last night! Though I got a little nervous when you guys started missing FT's at the end when you could have extended the lead and made that last 3 point attempt pointless. Their guys need a little more composure at the end to finish a team off, but I can't say too much because they did have the composure for that great comeback. great win for the Jays and a great win for the league. Now lets all root for OU to be a serious player in the Big XII this season! haha

Again. You should probably read this thread from beginning. I was directing that sarcasm at chicagojayfan and ljay about not being so uptight about fans and players celebrating a well deserved victory. This board needs a sarcasm font.

Also, I was a bit intoxicated last night.

Hey we're all on the same team here, all of us want the conference to do well. Even if my team, SJU, tanks this year I still want all the teams to play well. Winning benefits everyone.

Some people just want the perception of the conference not to look like a mid-major... IE a great team like Creighton storming the court in a game like last night. In a way, I see both sides of the coin but honestly who cares? Just enjoy the win either way no matter how they celebrate (or, reportedly celebrated).

Congrats again to Creighton, very happy to get a big win for the conference out of the way so soon. No way we could have expected a better start to OOC play for the BE. 1 loss, and to a top 25 on the road.
