No arguments on the arrogance/condescension. And they do have resources closer to a big state school than most of ours (probably only Georgetown is on that level).
As to enrollments, we must be looking at different numbers. I've got St. John's at 21,354 and 'Cuse at 21,267. Not really an important distinction since that can change easily year-to-year, I'm just a stubborn stickler.
I'm a stickler too. Included on the Syracuse campus is the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry which enrollment 600 undergrads and another 1600 graduate students. They are not counted in the Syracuse enrollment because they are technically not SU students. But they are on the campus and in terms of student life, SU is their home. With them included, SU is in fact home to more students than St. John's.

Have only released 51-351. But that contains all but 3 BE teams.
#58 St. John's 4th in the BE (based on the column top 100 Juco's this rating does include Thomas) (39th/3rd kenpom)
#61 Providence 5th in the BE (53/5th kenpom)
#67 Marquette 6th in the BE (86/9th kenpom)
#79 Seton Hall 7th in the BE (85/8th kenpom)
#82 Creighton 8th in the BE (47/4th kenpom)
#102 Butler 9th in the BE (67/7th kenpom)
#182 DePaul 10th in the BE (197/10th kenpom)
So seems like Hanner's formula is lower on St.John's, Creighton, DePaul, providence and Butler than kenpom's system is but is higher on Xavier, Marquette and Seton Hall.

50-26 released today:
#31 Georgetown 2nd in the BE (22/2nd kenpom)
#42 Xavier 3rd in the BE (66/6th kenpom)
So down on Georgetown, but higher on Xavier.
Only Nova in the top 25.

So, how is picking them 2nd being "down on Georgetown"?

down relatively nationally since he has them 31st best team rather than 22nd best team.
Bill Marsh wrote:But your comparison nationally at #22 is Ken Pom who uses a ridiculous system for his early season projections. It may suit his statistical needs, but it's out of touch with reality.
You're trying to rebuild a team that lost its leading scorer AND its leading rebounder and wasn't that good in the first place. There's a lot of talent at Georgetown, so they deserve to be in the top 3 in the league, but saying that they should be in the top 25 nationally is a stretch IMO.They still have to develop the chemistry that they didn't have last year to establish some consistency and they still have to mesh the various parts so that they complement each other. It remains to be seen if that will happen.

My point as I did in my original post which i quoted was to compare Hanner and Kenpom's ratings that's all I was doing. Since kenpom's came out first I was just stating the fact that Hanner's system looks at the Hoyas less favorably than Kenpoms. That's it. Sheesh. Not sure why that was so complicated to grasp.
