So the big fella really is seriously thinking about coming back. I would have never believed that. I think its a done deal from what Im told

If he`s back then I`ll say 17-19 wins. Hope I`m wrong since that`s not ncaa caliber.
Next season will be Lavins last chance to do something.

Great that he's coming back but it's still pretty much the same SJU team w/o Sampson. Hopefully they develop next year but they still having shooting problems correct?

If obekpa is back we will have 20+ wins and make the NCAA. Will probay do it without him. Johnnies hurt themselves with their bad start. Were a different team down the stretch and still finished tied for third. Jordan should be better as well.

If Obekpa comes back, that is great for St. John's! I really hope he does. I know I've posted some things on this board that makes me look like a St. John's hater, but again, I go to about 7 SJU games a year. I'll take a St. John's game at the Garden over a Knicks game 10 out of 10 times, I am also a college hoops junkie, but you know what I mean.

Hoping Lavin gets a strong 2015 class and SJU is still on track. I have high hopes for this league. Hoping the Big East / A-10 comparisons end in the near future and we leave them in the dust where they belong.

Rysheed Jordan could possibly be the best guard in the BE next year. He wont' solve the shooting issues but he could be extremely good and give them one of the top backcourts in the league.

I agree. With out Sampson there's no one on the team you have to guard besides Harrison and Jordan. They're still likely going to be worse than last year rather than better whether or not Obekpa returns. Sampson is a big loss. Obekpa was only going to be a loss because they don't have any other big men not because he's particularly good.

Sampson is a loss, but not "huge". Johnnies will do better next season than last.

down the stretch when they lost 3 of the last 5 games and killed a real shot at a NCAA tourney spot?

If you're talking going 11-4 down the stretch, that's fine- but who did they really beat? Butler 2x, Seton Hall 2x, Marquette 2x, Georgetown, DePaul, and Dartmouth. Only 2 NCAA team wins vs Providence and Creighton. Lost to Creighton, Xavier, Providence, and Villanova. So really of the 7 good teams- giving you Georgetown, they went 3-4. Also like I said, after that really 2 week good stretch, last few weeks they only go 2-3 with killer losses to Villanova, Xavier, and Providence- with 2/3 of those at home. They had 1 good road win all year long- at Providence.
