Ya, all those other points you make here arent worth arguing about. Thanks for clarifying your 'wool' comment.

All I will say is that there really isnt concrete info that X doesnt want UD in. Thats just internet speculation. Dont forget X helped UD get into the a10. I get the fans want the game and really dont care one way or another.

Sorry to dissapoint you.
What I mean by that is this.....X and Dayton are located further apart than Baltimore and Washimgton DC.

But X has it in their minds that Dayton is close enough to be a threat to them (plus they want cooler friends).
So X sells this notion to other members of the BE that Dayton is too close to be a productive member of the conference.
Thats is out right silly and this is the wool over the eyes notion I spoke of.

This is not the only reason UD is not a member of the NBE as you note.
ANd Marquette has a boner for us for some unknown reason.

Its kinda like when a cool kid moves into the neighborhood and you wanna be Kansas,,,---I mean, a cool kid too, so you throw away your relationship with your long life buddy in an attempt to take your own social presence to a new level....

And to use the term piss poor is an exageration given the numbers..
23-11 against bsc
7-0 against the acc
AN average of 22 wins each season is not piss poor.
Many notable recent wins against UNC, UC, Louisville, Kentucky etc...
This is an example of what I'm talking about from X.

But I will tell you this RomainSato,
I remember (because Im 53) not that long a go a team from cincinnati that had fallen on hard--hard times and nobody wanted to play them. Nobody wanted to be them and nobody would schedule them. They didn't have a decent place to call their own so they played in an old outdated hockey arena in a bad part of town. That team was X. Yet dayton played them every year--home and home. Because Dayton and X had always played each other. Its bigger than you and I and one day the sillyness will end and these two schools will resume the game and I'm sure it will as fun as ever.
I'll not post here again for some time because I think its getting a little off the rail... And no one wants a UD-X pissing match.
See Ya

Dash cut Tman some slack, he's a good poster. He got banned from UDs site for truth bombing on Gregory.

All this Archie speculation is what the media does, he is the coach at UD now. Will he leave at some point, if I was a betting man I would say he does sooner than later but who cares. dude still has a game or maybe games to play. leave it alone. Its a good thing if your coach is wanted. Chris Mack isnt going to coach at X forever, Buzz williams.......oh wait he did leave.

I didn't read your latest rant--but i did read the first few lines so let me help you out.
I said You're starting to panic--as in you. You alone.
Maybe no ones broke it to you before but you're not xavier--you're a person...

Perhaps you're fan of mine --you seem to think you know a little about me so let my help you in one regard.
I post when I have something to say on the a-10 site.
Not that often.
Not very often here.
Again--only when I think I have something meaningfull to say.

You should try that.

excellent posts tman

I do not see UD aligning with the BE as agreed why would they want to go where they are not wanted? The BE this year has proven to be a shadow of its old self.
UD is tired of following X around. It has not proven to offer any advantage to them over the past 20 years. They will most likely stay in the A10 and renew a home and home with X, which will most likely happen now after UD success this year. UD has been a traditional Catholic liberal/progressive institution since 1850 and has had basketball success since the 50's, no need to jump off the cliff with the Fox Hannity/Newscorp/Conservative radicals.

Yeah, they want to stay in the a-10 and collect 1/12th the money. Solid move.

OK, we get it. You don't want Dayton to come to the Big East. Have a nice day and stop posting about it non-stop on a Big East message board then.

I thought you left?

I'm sorry Vizzini, but I don't have anything to panic about. You've got yourself a little dizzy over that notion. And if you only read the first few lines of what I wrote how would you know what I "proved" with the rest of my post?

If you want to post when you have something meaningful to write, then write it. But so far you haven't written anything meaningful. So, given that you are off the rail, I presume we can now take you at your word that you'll not be posting here for some time.

RSto10, I frankly don't care if Archie stays or goes. I was simply sharing in an earlier post with a rationale UD poster that he'll most likely leave sooner than later, and not because of anything lacking in the UD program, but because of his aspirations and heritage. And there is nothing wrong with that. The Miller family has accomplished great things in the sport of basketball. Frankly, I still like Sean, as far as that's concerned.

UD brings in about $350 million annually in tuition with 8000 undergrads @ 35k ea plus 3000 grad students
Pus a $407 million endowment

The fox payout would be walking around money - dont need it

let me be the first to say the above position while it may be factually correct is certianly not how anyone at UD would look at the Big East. $'s are important as is long term viabilty/stability of a basketball league. UD is very well off financially and have many wealthy donors some ultra wealthy but $'s are only part of the equation. The A10 is a great basketball conference but the Big East would be a better long term institutional fit for UD. I believe at some point the Big East will come to the same conclusion and contrary to many of you the business case is now not somewhere down the line.
