Creighton is scary. I look forward to the game on Monday night but think it is going to be very, very tough. Creighton is Final 4 good IMHO.

I would love to see BE have a good showing in march and would be icing on the cake if Doug gets the Naismith CPOY. ESPN is really doing a great job selling Jabari though. Comeone Fox! Step your game up!

Wow, didn't expect a blowout. Dougie put on a clinic in the first half and some nice "harlem" moves by Brooks as well....

Lavinwood. I think you are right on in your assessment. We are for sure enjoying our run these past 3+ years. As for our future it will certainly be different without Doug but that would happen for any school that losers a player with production like that. Remember that we are a classic mid-major formula right now where we bring in really smart, disciplined, under-rated shooters who develop and turn into nice players by years 3 & 4. We just happen to accentuate that formula this time around with the possible player of the year; and a travesty if he doesn't win it. Recruiting will be key for the next year or two and we probably do need to upgrade in talent but there is no reason why we can't and won't. In any case I think we will struggle relatively next year but still be on solid ground regardless. And remember, even without Doug we still have a roster fullof shooters and if you shoot well you will still win some ball games, or at least be a threat to win some.

Agreed. No doubt you guys can't do it. You have all the exposure now and recruits know Creighton as a top 25 team every year for at least the past 5 years or so. That will definitely help. Creighton reminds me a lot of Wichita State…great shooters, some amazing veterans, but when those veterans leave do they fall back to earth again? And if they do that hurts their respective conferences big time. If Creighton becomes Seton Hall after Doug and Gibbs leave, it will hurt. Creighton was brought here to be a perennial top 25 team, not just for 1 year. I really hope for all of our sake that they can reload over and over like the Nova's, Marquette's, and G'Town's.

Honest question, why hasn't Creighton gotten further in Tourney with this squad?

Lavinwood wrote:The funny thing is, when people from the country act like they are in some major city, they don't realize it's still rural to New Yorkers. I live 35 miles east of the Queens border on Long Island aka the NYC suburbs. People in Queens think I live in the "boonies" 45 minutes east of them with houses right next to each other, .5 acre property, and backyards just big enough to fit a pool or deck and that's it. Yet to most of the country we are essentially greater NYC. So when the suburbs of NYC are more densely populated and more urban than Omaha, of course we are going to say it's all farm land out there lol. My uncle said it best when he did a cross country drive. He said, "Each coast has major cities and suburbs of major cities with stuff going on…everything in between is just farms".

Maybe it's just me that's confused by that saying but was he trying to say that everything outside of the east coast is small town? Because if so your uncle needs to look at a list of biggest cities of the top 50 only 10 are east coast, top 25, only 5 are east coast, top 10 only 2 are east coast.

Mid major seeding. 8 and 7 seeds are nightmare second round match ups. North Carolina 2 years ago with Barnes and Duke last year with coach K sitting in Wragge's lap and we didn't have Brooks to try to counter that with some sort of slashing threat. If we can keep this up we are hoping to get into the 6 or better area and see what happens from there.
