If you didn't know where Creighton was (and was in Omaha) before getting into the Big East, then you are not a knowledgeable college hoops fan.

I’ve never been anywhere near Nebraska and don’t plan on travelling there. What would, ever make me wake up one day and google where Creighton was located? Same with Wichita...had they not made their run I’d never have known. Let’s call a spade a spade and realize Middle the country isn’t going to get the same media exposure, especially a team coming out of MVC. McDermott winning player of year did more for them than any of their wins in NCAAT.

But yea, I’m not a knowledgeable college hoop fan for not caring about a random team that I have no allegiance to

Basic college hoops knowledge that Creighton is in Omaha. Tough to not bump into this information even by accident. And you really didn't know that Wichita is a city in Kansas? Basic US geography, right? Just seems weird, as though you're joking and just breaking Jays fans' stones.

On a side note, i remember thinking it sounded cool at the start of a New Mexico State game when the announcer would say with a ton of saliva "Live from Las Cruces, New Mexico!!!"

To be fair to Creighton, most prominent hoops schools are located in places where only the locals would be able to locate on a map. Their attendance alone is Big East worthy. They're 6th in the BE in NCAAT appearances, but dead last in NCAAT wins. That needs to change going forward.

Just my opinion, but a college hoops fan not knowing that Creighton is in Omaha, is like a baseball fan not knowing what metro areas are home to the Texas Rangers, or the old California Angels... or an NBA fan not knowing the home of Golden State... or an NFL fan with Carolina. C'mon.

... although I've met fellow Americans when on vacation who don't know that Rhode Island is a state. So, anyway.

Any American that doesn't know that Rhode Island is a state is not too bright.

More than one way to know that Creighton is in Omaha....I think everyone knows that the College World Series is in Omaha every year, right? Creighton is the host school. Every year. The games are played in the same stadium where our baseball team plays its games and is located about 4 blocks from the heart of our campus.

That said, I'd understand a casual sports fan not knowing where Creighton is located...someone coming onto a basketball message board is not a "casual" fan so they're either a dumbass or a douche...jury's out on that one.

Didn’t realize I was hitting a nerve. I never associate Creighton with baseball since it’s always referred to as in Omaha. I also don’t watch or care about baseball. But I’ll join you as a dumbass while you be the douche

Its slu and dayton there aren't any other options. All the east coast markets are taken except for Boston and Baltimore. And there aren't any schools in those markets that fit the mold

Well I certainly weren't aware of them or most of the MVC. You guys are mid-westerners so they are in your neck of the woods. I bet we out here know more of the MAAC and NEC schools than you guys too.

You realize that saying Omaha is in the same neck of the woods as Milwaukee is distance wise the same as saying NYC is in the same neck of the woods as Raleigh.
