Creighton didn't exactly have its A game, either. CU shot 23% from three, missing numerous uncontested shots, and 40% overall. Also had several careless TO's. They were fortunate to catch X on a really bad shooting night. Most happy with the toughness shown on the boards. Only being out rebounded by 2 was itself quite a feat for this team. Fun game. Mack has to be kicking himself for not going to the zone from the get go. Also, Reynolds and Farr on the floor together is a really tough match up for anyone. Hoping CU. avoids the one step back bugaboo.

Congrats Jays on a well earned W. Century Link is a HUGE home court advantage. That Watson kid was simply unstoppable. I know he was a transfer from BU, how many years of eligibility does he have left? I was extremely concerned about this game. When I saw that the point spread was only 1.5, that was a mental "Oh F#ck" moment.

This was the worst Iv'e seen X shoot in years. And we are loaded with players that were specifically recruited because they were dead eye shooters. I think it was a combination of good defense on the Jays part and just one of those games you have once or twice a year, where you can't throw the ball in the ocean. What was really bizarre to me though was the misses were not just garden variety misses. They were not even close. And it wasn't just one guy chucking up these bricks and near airballs, it was most of the team. Very peculiar.

Anyway, good luck the rest of the season until we get you at the Tas. The Jays will definitely be a tourney team next year. And who knows, you get super hot in the next three weeks, anything is possible.

3 things

1. Watson is an absolute stud. If Creighton can find their way into the tourney the sky is the limit if Watson plays well.

2. Xavier needs to get back to being a defense first team. Offense seems to come naturally when they are dominating on the defensive end.

3. Ultimately this game will help X, because they played bad defense against SJU and Marquette but shot their way out of it. They needed this defeat to wake them up.

you are correct, but according to Xavier logic, the following statement is true

XU beat no 17 UD by 30, CU beats XU by 16, of course, CU is 46 points better than UD

I meant any Big East team. I don't know if we've ever seen a team 7-5 in conference 16-9 overall- and frankly not in the bracket- forget not on the bubble even.

Game was really chippy and emotional on the floor, and I was watching on TV. Based on what I saw, I'm not surprised the student section got in the mix at the end. Not condoning it, just saying I'm not surprised.

I think it's hard to say Xavier is "bad" they're both good teams, to call any team bad in this league besides St. John's(which will change in the coming years it's and obvious rebuilding year for them) is quite a joke. Creighton is a very good team we all know that they just lack a good out of conference win and have a bad OOC loss.

That's a big if for Creighton to go 4-0 with @ Butler and @ Marquette... But if they did that they'd be in the mix.
