@AdamZagoria: Since Thursday, Isaiah Briscoe has hosted 4 St. John's coaches at RC, taken an official to SJU & been @ SJU practice @ MSG. You do the math.

Let's hope Lavin gets a commit soon.

Mo started the domino affect in Lavin's first year, with many other top 50 kids committing after.

IB could get the ball rolling this year.
Briscoe, Diallo, Sampson, and Montero? Even IB alone would be a great catch, but what all four could do?
Yeah, I do dream big.

When is the early signing period, first or second week in Nov?
I need it to get here already, my patience is bad.

We were exactly the same way about Ellenson. I hope it turns out as well for you as it did for us.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

IB spotted at SHU shooting around. Not sure if I should be worried or it's just his local school where he's from so he's just using it as a gym. If SHU gets back in this all of a sudden I have to wonder what SHU offered this time bringing back the Whitehead recruitment. Seton Hall proves that dirty recruiting tactics are warranted. You get these kids any way you can as long as you don't get caught. IW was SJ all the way until 11 PM the night before when SHU offered his coach a job. Then other recruits came because of Whitehead and now IB is spotted at SHU. I make fun of SHU for dirty recruiting even if it's legal, but I can't blame them for it. In this day in age you have to do anything you can to get these top recruits. They can save a coach's job, save a program, and bring tons more top recruits for years like a domino effect.

The picture of IB at SHU is EXACTLY why I try not to get my hopes up with SJ. Recruits these days are like attractive women at bars. Everyone wants them and they are not loyal. They flirt with everyone and you never know where you stand with them until the last second. If worse comes to worst though I'd still rather see IB at SHU than UK or UConn that's for sure.

Oh, shut the f*** up! What, every time SHU challenges St. John's for a recruit, you automatically assume there's something dirty going on? You're being ridiculous. Whitehead was not "SJU all the way until 11 PM." For the last week or so of his recruitment, his projections were swinging heavily back and forth between SHU and SJU. They swayed to SJU the night before his decision because that's who his last visit was with, which in theory gave them an advantage. You make is sound like SHU wasn't even close until Morton got the assisting coaching job. The reality is the SHU and SJU were neck and neck the whole way and Willard threw Morton the job at the end to seal the deal instead of leaving it at 50/50. And if you think Lavin is so clean with his recruiting, you should look into his history. The Obekpa commit was particularly shady, as he really was "Cincy and only Cincy" until the 11th hour.

As far as Briscoe goes, I wouldn't overthink it. A lot of the Jersey recruits work out and shoot around at SHU. Kyrie Irving, for example, played ball at the SHU gym all the time, but when it came to his recruitment he never really gave the Pirates at chance. I'm not saying the Pirates are completely out on him, I'm just saying him shooting around at SHU doesn't mean much. Before UK and UConn got involved, IB wasn't planning on committing until the spring and the rumored reason for that was he wanted to wait and see what Whitehead did. If IW stayed, he potentially wanted to play with him. So I wouldn't be too concerned about SHU really being "back in" unless he defers his decision to spring again (and includes them in his 3 team shortlist, of course).

As much as I would have loved an all Isaiah backcourt, probably would have created some chemistry issues resulting in transfers. Hope St Johns gets him. Good for the big east and really sparks the SHU SJU rivalry.

Would certainly create a nice buzz for that matchup. NY vs NJ, but at the same time NJ vs NY?

UConn is what scares me. You can make the easy case that UK won't give him unlimited PT and he will just be another face in the crowd. He can't leave a real mark there. At SJ it's his team and he can be a legend. Not to mention at UK he's in the boonies and it won't be easy for family to see his games often. UConn is pretty far but still doable and they just won a NC which usually entices kids. But hopefully he realizes they are in a mid major conference that just got Tulane, Tulsa, ECU, and has other ugly schools. They don't even have national TV all the time. Big East does.
