Fox Sports 1 Update

Yeah Big Ten now is close to a must for FS1. Big Ten is going to get a ton of $$$- either Fox overpaying or ESPN overpaying to keep FS1 out of the loop.

What they need is "must see" events. NFL for example or NCAA tournament games.

NFL out until I think 2021 or 2022..
NCAA Tournament out until 2025 or 2026.

Fox really should have started the network 2 years earlier when more rights were getting set to be done.

That's going to be a challenge to establish a real foothold. Fox will want to increase their fees but won't have any leverage because ESPN controls all of the properties. On the other hand, it probably means more Big East games on FS1 which isn't all bad.

How about days in April and May during Sunday and during the week, some softball and baseball from the Big East. I know it won't turn the needle, but FS1 lacks live sporting events.

not necessarily. NHL could carve out a 2nd package possibly. If Fox went to the NHL wanting it- I think the NHL would make it happen.

As for FS1, they have many games on Saturday. The problem with the network so far other than basketball season, they lack live games during the week.
