The problem is SJU is very important to the BE if only because of it's location. NYC is the largest TV market in the BE (or the US) and any chance of an improved BE presence in TV ratings depends more on this market than on the Providence, Xavier, Creighton, Butler and Marquette markets combined. True Seton Hall is not far away but they bring in very little in TV ratings. Many BE fans seem to believe that TV ratings will gradually build over a period of 5 to 10 years. I doubt Fox will be so patient. I sincerely hope SJU can rebuild asap.

It is remarkable that there is no one in the recruiting pipeline for SJU.
Would have thought that would have been highlighted long before now as a serious problem.
Maybe what the school should do is hire Shaka and just shake up everything.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Why would he come here after turn ing down other jobs.
I`d love for him to be our coach, but doubt he would come.

But yeah atleast ask him, or Greg Marshall, Archie Miller, or ect. It coundn`t hurt.

Does Fox have any choice other than to be patient? I have not seen the contract, so I'm not aware of whether or not there is an early termination clause based on ratings.

If you listen to some A10 fans out there, Fox Sports 1 may just fold up the tent and go home in a couple of years and that's a real precarious position for the Big East to be in so they want to stay in the A10.

Well, the A10 contract gives each school about $400,000.00 per season. The Big East schools get $4,000,000.00. So if fox sports 1 folded tomorrow, an A-10 school would need nine more years to catch up to the one year the Big East had.

There are always a "few" fans from each school (A-10, NBE, SEC) who seem to often "talk" the loudest, but often have the least to actually add to the conversation(s).
