And they appear as a #1 on about 95% of the brackets. WSU is about 97%. Kansas isn't in the picture at all. Three have KU as a #1 seed instead of Villanova, and one or two have Syracuse.
The only way this changes is if Villanova doesn't win the Big East and Kansas wins the Big 12. Even then, it would be an upset for KU to move past Villanova.

I spoke too soon. Wow, so much for that #1 seed. Still more tourney to play, but I can see the committee raising a BIG ? on Villanova getting the #1. But whom else is worthy? Could Syracuse get back in? I don't think Kansas gets it no matter if they win the Big 12 or not. Maybe no one wants it?

If Duke, Virginia, or Syracuse wins the ACC, any of them is more deserving. If Wisconsin or Michigan wins the Big Ten, either of them is more deserving.
All anyone has to do is to look at Syracuse's season. They were 25-0 before they lost. If they had Wichita State's schedule, they too could have coasted to 33-0. But they were worn down by the relentless pressure of a really tough schedule. To coarse Wichita sate to a team playing that kind of schedule is ludicrous.
I see posts about how it's not fair to "deny" Wichita State a 1-seed. How is it fair to favor Wichita State over someone like Syracuse and deny Syracuse or whoever wins the ACC who played just as well for so long but didn't get to play the soft schedule that WSU did in finishing out its season undefeated.

Wichita State didn't lose to Boston College or Georgia Tech.

Nor did they beat Villanova and Duke.

They were not asked to beat them. If going 34-0 is so easy why doesn't it happen every year?
