Zierden's likely done for the year per coach. Really sucks because he'd been playing well of late and sure could have used him today with Jahenns shooting so poorly.

I was afraid of that...terrible, terrible news. Zierden is so valuable to this team.

I think he's going to be a stud next year.

Great game by both teams. Sorry for that kid too. Hate to see players get seriously injured. But just a fabulous atmosphere. So glad X was able to pick up the win. Also I was impressed with the Creighton fans I ran into before the game. All were really nice. Classy fan base. Just an all around great start to my spring break!

I second this.

I had the opportunity to sit behind the scorer's table essentially on the 50 yard line. The mutual respect between these two programs is obvious.

The Cintas Center was electric today. It's games like this that will prove the long-term value and potential of the Big East.

Way to go X! As for Creighton, please know that you guys have a big fan whenever Xavier otherwise is not playing.

Fantastic game. Both teams have a ton of weapons and athleticism, and can make up points in a hurry. Xavier punched their ticket to the NCAAs. The arc on Dee Davis' shot looks like a roman candle. Anyone else think we have 3 legitimate Final Four contenders? VU, CU and XU can beat anybody. Game looked great on TV. Sorry for Zierden, the replay looked pretty bad.

Nice win by X today...I agree that these two programs have a lot of mutual respect, I'm looking forward to a nice little rivalry starting.

Do us a favor and beat Nova, and hooefully we can steal one on the road against Georgetown.

Great game! I am a little biased as a very longtime Xavier fan. But I also applaud Creighton for a well-played game. Couple more to take care of and then I look forward to MSG!.

Sorry about the player that got hurt. Hate to see that for any team

First of all congrats to Xavier for the win. Well deserved, great defensive pressure, and great shooting. You forced a lot of passing turnovers that we usually don't commit. Marsh, you are a little arrogant in all the comments I read on this board. Unless you are a college coach, easy with your all your declarations. McD gets blocked a lot going through the lane , since he is a top player. To assume he is just falling down does nothing to add to your credibility. As one of the coaches told us, think about how mentally and physically tough this kid is when he is the KEY defensive stop for EVERY team they play. If you saw every game where the little things he takes to get him off his step, maybe you wouldn't be so sure of your analysis, But you, as me, have never been in that position. Just appreciate what the kid is and does.

Bill is one of the most level headed posters on this board in my opinion. Heaven forbid someone dare suggest that Doug is not the messiah

You misunderstood my comment. I didn't accuse Doug of flopping. You can look at the time I posted to identify the play I was talking about. Doug was driving down the lane, cutting on an arc from the right side of the foul line to make his move to the left side of the basket, dribbling with his left hand. The defender was backing off. Given that he was leaning and cutting Ina little bit of a circle route, his momentum arrived him in such a way that he simply lost his footing dell as he was driving.he may have been anticipating contact from the defender which never came.there was no foul.It was a turnover, plain and simple.

I was not criticizing Doug in the slightest. If he gets calls, that's to his credit. I think the world of him as a player. How can any fan of college hoops not love his game? He's so fundamentally sound and Does it all. He's the closest thing I've seen to Larry Bird since Bird retired. My criticism is entirely of the refs.
