I disagree. The shooter has to be given room to come down. Arcidiacono was underneath him. Regardless, it wasn't a blatant. They hadn't been calling charges all game even when they should have. The announcers made a point of discussing that. Then all of a sudden they're calling a charge to decide the game??? Outrageous.

I can accept a certain way of calling the game even when I disagree as long as the refs are consistent. But in this case, they took something they'd been calling one way all game and called it the opposite way.

Wow! Arcidiacono just hot clobbered and it's a no call!!!

BTW, every time Gardner makes that bump move going to the basket, it's a charge but they never call it.

Missed Layups: 4 (One of them appeared to have a Butler player interfere on the rim but no call)
Missed Open 3's: 1
Missed Open 2's: 1
Travel: 1

Random Thoughts:
*Chris Obekpa has absolutely no clue where out of bounds line is. That's the 3rd or 4th time in the past 2 games that he turned the ball over for such a stupid mistake.
*Butler never misses a shot within 10 ft around the rim even flying through the air
*Apparently you are now allowed to push off on offense to get open
*We have the ugliest looking made 3 pointers in the nation
*Last update I saw Butler shooting 71% and SJ shooting 50%…that's a huge discrepancy with SJ leading and I expect Butler to cool off with their jump shot. Dare I say I feel good about that especially knowing we are a 2nd half team?
*Nice to see that we can make a few 3's…I expect us to go ice cold in the 2nd half though…must get in the paint

If any team has benefited from calls en route to the #4 ranking which was clearly overrated with 2 bad losses and 1 close escape from SJ, it's Nova. Still a good team but not a top 10 IMO. I see them as a more consistent 15-20 team. I think the law of averages are evening out.

Scratch that I thought Nova lost. But my point remains…they will end up a 15-20 team.

If you need a 17 point lead blown before you can say "another collapse", count on St. John's! St. John's…we dominate you…then let you back in! Proud sponsor of college basketball.

I was laughing when we had the 17 pt lead because I knew for a fact that would be gone in a flash. Other teams know how to put their feet on the other team's throats and keep a cushion from that point on en route to a comfortable win. SJ can be up 30 and you will never feel safe. Butler getting the easiest looks you can possibly get…no one cutting them off all they are doing is beating players off the dribble and getting easy lay ins.

By the way, refs…you know Butler has the ability to foul too right? I know it's Hinkle, but what is it 20 vs 2 FT's right now? We have been driving…but no calls. Even had a perfectly good 3 point play waived off and they never explained why. But oh well, forget that huge discrepancy…SJ is going to lose this game because we can't hold a lead to save our lives. Worst finishing team I've ever seen in my life.

OK I'll bite. Name me 14 teams that are better than them Carnac.

Nice win Johnnies! I'm really not surprised though…Butler lost a lot and SJ was supposed to be good since they are loaded. This is what they should be doing. Without the big FT discrepancy this game is closer to a 30 pt win. I'll take it. I have to say though for all the talk of Hinkle and how amazing the fans are, you guys left the game early. I was surprised. The luster of the back to back national champ games still keeps them coming, but they left in a hurry. I hope Creighton got everything out of their system and is due for an ice cold day shooting. Let's hope we can make some outside shots to neutralize some of their 3's.

By the way, why is it impossible to get a correct-fitting avatar on here? It never works...

Providence beat Louisville by 30 the year the won the National Championship and we sucked. Don't read too much into it. Once a season or so one team will catch unbelievable fire and other just won't.

Right now, I think Nova is still the best team in this league with Creighton not too far behind...X and Prov and little below. After that there is no consistency at the moment for the middle of pack.

He can't, he might list 14 or 15 teams, but half of those will be complete BS. On the other hand, if there's one fan base that knows what overrated looks like, it would St. John's fans. You know that team with all that "talent".
