4 weeks from now is Feb 6. Means he's missing no matter what- Xavier, Butler, @ Providence, @ Nova, Georgetown, and St John's. All are before Feb 1 even- so no chance he's making any of those games.

Games in that Feb 6-20 timeframe-
Feb 7 DePaul
Feb 9 @ St John's
Feb 13 @ Butler
Feb 16 Villanova
Feb 19 @ Marquette

Huge difference between 4 and 6 weeks- 4 of the biggest games are in that middle.

You are really, really getting on my nerves. When a player gets injured, you say your condolences and move on. You don't rub it in like this. Yes, losing a big chunk of our offensive engine for a large portion of the conference schedule really sucks. What does posting our schedule and wailing doom and gloom do to expand on that point? I'm going to take a tip from some of the other posters on here and just block you.

The original poster said that it was 4 weeks at the most. The ESPN article said 4-6 weeks. I was just making the point that there is a huge difference between being out 4 and being out 6 weeks. I think that's called analysis. You and other clowns think this board should just be a kumbaya love fest. If someone said that Josh Smith would be out 4 weeks, and then it came out that another said that it'd be 4-6 weeks- I'd say it's reasonable to look and see what the difference is.

I actually think this could pay dividends for you guys quite frankly- you will be deeper at the end of the season.

Like the Energizer Bunny... freakin non-stop posts everywhere on every thread on every website... like a full time job for us to read all the posts and keep up... seriously... I went for Chinese with the wife in Pawtucket, and his comments on each dish were included on the menu... each dish including the poo-poo platter...

Trust me- it will make your life more enjoyable. There are enough idiots that you have to deal with at times at work. Don't choose to add another one for fun.

So observing that, at least according to one source, the recovery could take longer, and the slightly longer projection could be unfortunate to Creighton is annoying? Or is rubbing it in? No one is reveling in Creighton's misfortune, particularly guys like Stever (who just suggested in another thread that he'd rather have teams like Creighton get a better seed than another team slip in off the bubble). Are people supposed to shield you from things that are potentially negative? I for one hope he gets back as soon as possible, but it's nice to know about the varying estimates and about what games this has an effect on.

Yes, it is. If your second-best player went down for 4-6 weeks, I would assume that Xavier's fanbase had done the math and figured out how long the player would be out of the rotation and calculated a worst-case scenario. And, coming from a guy who thinks the American Airlines Conference is to the Big East what the Harlem Globetrotters are to the Washington Generals, it's fair to say I sensed a little bit of glee from the lecture.

I wouldn't find it annoying at all if Stainbrook got injured and Big East fans were discussing the different projections they were hearing on his return, because his absence affects the conference. And you "sensed a little bit of glee"? As a neutral fan, I didn't get that sense at all and think you're just being rather touchy about the subject. Stever is just a worrywart who analyzes how the conference is doing with a microscope. That includes analyzing how Creighton is doing. And by the way, all he's repeatedly said about the AAC is that it's actually a pretty good conference right now (which is true) and people on this board are constantly underplaying the success it's been having.

I understand if one were getting annoyed with his gloomy outlook (really more like constant anxiety), but this conception of Stever as some enemy of Big East teams is nothing more than an illusion. This conference has not been all sunshines and roses in its inaugral season and at least someone is being honest and pointing that out (Nor has it been a failure, by the way, just to catch you or someone else before creating a false dichotomy of what I just said).

I'm really surprised by all the sensitivity coming from my fello Jays! If we were still in the MVC could you imagine some of the Gibbs talk coming from our old rivals, especially from them Shockers! So glad that CU is in the Big East!

LOL. The Wichita morons were tweeting nasty crap about Grant. And I went and looked on their board and there (OF COURSE) were posters woofing about it.

Then on the other hand, from the Seton Hall boards, there was genuine concern for Gibbs, as there was from posters from many other teams. Talk about a tremendous difference in class.

Thank God for this move. Damn happy to be here and leave trailer park trash like that in the dust.

Yup, I think we have too much self-interest in each other's success in the inaugral year to not feel the loss of such a player for a month or so. I get that Jays fans might feel the need to prove themselves in the new conference, as I remember similar feelings a few years back with Xavier before the mainstream really started accepting them as a major school in a mid-major conference. Just settle down. We know you're a good program and not just a one-player wonder, which is why people were generally happy with the addition.
