I am interested to see how BigEAST ratings for basketball on FS1 compare to NBCsports, CBSsports, and ESPNU?

Just looking through the ratings, Big East games have typically ranged from 40k to 110K on average. Mildly low, probably comparable to ESPNU. Definitely lower than ESPN/ESPN2 but higher than NBC/CBS. There are a couple of outliers like PC-Kentucky getting 360K viewers and the FS2 games which draw 15-20K.

Those numbers HAVE to change once conference play begins. Let's face it, there were a lot of cupcakes in the pre-season (including Creighton's dismantling of Nebrasketball last night lol). I'm watching Butler play freaking Manchester, but I think I'll be a tad more excited seeing them play X or Nova or Georgetown or MU, or...

Look at #2 for Manchester, looks and plays like he's in the 8th grade. WTF?

Actually fun watching all these dunks and oops. Really letting em have it. Manchester is making you look like the Globetrotters vs. the Generals

Basketball ratings go up across the board once football is over, as well. Many casual college sports fans aren't paying any attention at all to hoops in November/early December.

I had not heard of something called Manchester before looking at the schedule yesterday. What a windfall of exposure for that program tonight, score be damned.

Bingo. None of my friends care about college hoops until late Feb. when March Madness heats up. That's what the sport is known for. That and the conference tourneys. The NCAAF championship game is about to be played. The media hypes that up and puts NCAABB on the backburner. That will change once football is over. Big time fans like us love college hoops year round but the common fan only cares about what leads up to March Madness and the tournament itself.
