Well at this rate Nova will win the league by 1% over Creighton. Nova (4-1 in their final 5) 80.95 (81%) to Jays (5-0 final 5) 80.0%.
A shame there will not be any makeup games. Difficult to expect the Huskies or StJ to win in Finneran. Difficult to see Cr8n winning there too, but
they could pull it off after Nova's upset at Hinkle 3 days earlier.

Nova must L 2 of their last 5 in order for Jays to repeat. That's a tall order. C'mon Butler and Prov. ;)

The head scratcher to me is this week. No game until saturday/uconn.

That said, by the time the season is over, and assuming all scheduled remaining games are played, the teams that Nova will have not play two against are DePaul Xavier and UConn. X is out as they play tomorrow night against SJU. And cant go back to back with uconn as they have providence tomorrow night.. depaul is playing seton hall Wed. So, they are out. After saturday, nova has 2 games a week. Dont see how they make them up. So no X or Depaul this year and 1 against uconn....

So all "postponed" games are officially canceled at this point, right?

Very Frustrating that the league isn't making up more of these games.
Other leagues are playing back to back games or games with one day rest in between. Why can't we.

With the new and Improved Hoyas our 4 games we're missing Home vs. DePaul, @ Marquette, @ Providence, and @ xavier That could easily be 3 more wins. :D

I can only think of 1 game that Val Akerman made happen on short notice...GU @ VU. It's hard to understand why there is zero motivation to get any more done...at this point it's kinda too late. I for one would love to see X play 2 in 2 days vs GTown.

A fellow poster on our Xavier board had a really creative idea. Run the BE Tournament like a holiday tournament with a loser's bracket. If the BE could do something creative like that, it could give us an additional team in the Big Dance.

Yeah Hoyas get

Nova x2, Creighton x 2, Seton Hall x2, Uconn x2, St. John's x 2

but only one crack at DePaul Providence, Marquette.
And in theory only us and Marquette will face Uconn with Bouknight both times.

Only bad* team we got two cracks at was Butler and only good team we miss out on is Xavier.

I know we can't cast stones. We're a bad team too.

Val Ackerman and Stu Jackson have done a masterful job leading the re-configured Big East over the past 8 years.... but there have been virtually zero adjustments or innovation or creative thinking to get Big East teams more games. Including at the beginning of conference play in January when the Big East was refusing to allow schools to schedule non-conference games.... Xavier sat healthy for 2 weekends straight with no game because of Covid issues with their Big East opponent and were not allowed to schedule anyone because the Big East conference was insistent they'd get in 20 conference games..... at a time when the US was having 250,000+ COVID cases a day. And then the conference seemingly made no effort to be a little innovative and flexible to get additional BE games in, other than the Georgetown vs Villanova game. The strategy appears to be "here is the schedule, let's pray it works"

And partially due to the lack of action, we may only get 4 of 11 teams in the tournament - which will further be a significant financial hit for the conference and schools.

Not sure what you're looking at git --

Nova is sitting at 9-2 right now and has four games left on the schedule (1 vs. CU).
CU is sitting at 12-4 right now and has four games left on the schedule (1 vs. Nova).

If CU wins out and Nova wins out except for losing again to CU, then Nova ends at 12-3 and CU ends at 16-4 --- that's .800 for both teams, tied at the top of the standings, and CU winning the #1 seed by way of the tiebreaker again.

(That depends on CU actually winning the other three games, of course, which isn't a given, either -- but that's the possibility).

Oops, my bad. I was looking at these teams overall records, not conference records. Sorry fellas.
