I expect both X and The Hall to continue rising.

AP UConn 25th, arv X-38th

Coaches UConn-27th, X-32nd, SH-41st

X and Seton Hall play each other this week and no one else, so someone's rise is going to be stalled.

NCAA basketball tournament selection process - Wikipedia
Selecting the field

The committee officially considers predictive computer rankings, such as ESPN's BPI, Sagarin, and Pomeroy Ratings, which use additional factors considered by the committee, such as injured players in the case of the BPI. Additionally, committee members consider how teams do on the road and at neutral courts, strength of conference and schedule, non-conference strength of schedule, record against other selected tournament teams, and other extenuating factors. Finally, the "eye test" is often quoted by pundits as something the committee uses, however NCAA.org's sparse description of the selection process doesn't officially mention the "eye test".

New bracketing principles adopted for 2021 NCAA tournament – NCAA.com - January 15, 2021
The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee adopted new bracketing principles, effective only for the 2021 championship, as a result of the entire tournament being played in Indiana. This year’s bracket will be mostly determined by the overall seed list, which is the committee’s ranking of the 68 teams participating in the event. The committee’s intent will be to stay true to the S-curve for placing teams on the bracket, though the following existing principles will still be applied accordingly:

The committee will be charged with selecting the best 37 at-large teams to join the automatic qualifiers from the 31 conferences playing this season. Selection Sunday is March 14, and the Final Four will be played April 3 and 5. Exact preliminary-round playing dates will be announced later.

March Madness games will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, along with Mackey Arena in West Lafayette and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The tournament will be hosted by Ball State, Butler, the Horizon League, Indiana, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and Purdue.

Gonzaga and Baylor look almost unbeatable. Nova sitting at 3 by not playing but unlikely to move up because the top two aren't losing anytime soon.

Nova hasn’t played in a month- c’mon SH (who also hasn’t in a week or so). C’mon
Mamu. A bunch of rust to knock off.

Xavier is one of many teams having their schedule seriously disrupted this season. On Sunday, the Musketeers may miss their third game against Villanova.

Xavier postpones Wednesday’s game against DePaul - Joe Danneman, Fox19 News - February 1, 2021 at 4:35 PM EST
CINCINNATI - Just days after returning to the court, Xavier’s basketball team is back on pause. The team announced Monday afternoon that Wednesday’s game against DePaul is now postponed after a positive test in its Tier 1 group and due to the need for additional COVID-related testing precautions in the coming days, the trip to Chicago is off.

Xavier returned to the court Saturday against Butler after four consecutive postponements and 20 days between games. The Musketeers beat Butler to improve to 11-2 on the season and reached the NCAA’s minimum of 13 games played to eligible for the NCAA Tournament. A source told FOX19 that Xavier plans to play its next scheduled game on Sunday against Villanova if they have enough healthy players.
