Has Hilliard separated himself from the pack?

POY is Hilliard vs. Dunn and it comes down to if Providence can finish second or not. If Providence doesn't finish second then it's definitely Hilliard. Even if they do finish second it could still end up going to Hilliard. Sort of a life time achievement type thing with Nova winning the conference 2 years in a row.

Per usual, always thinking with his heart, instead of his head. 3 G'town players on the the freshmen team. Khadeen Carrington also may make the list.

You're right, Carrington over white is the correct call.

Hilliard (POY)
Arcidiacono
Pinkston
Ochefu
Dunn
Hart

I'm kidding (sort of), but I have to think Hilliard is the Big East's Player of the Year. The shot against Butler gave him a signature moment. Not that he needed it. And every other Nova kid on that list except Pinkston has been very efficient this year.

I didn't think he would surpass Harrison, but Pointer will make the first team. The NYC newspapers are pushing POY for him but I doubt he gets a vote. Harrison will be a second team pick.

I don't understand why so many say Hilliard for POY by default because he is the best player on the best team.
When I think player of the year I think the best player in the league. Last year NOVA was the best team but Doug was by far POY- not the best nova player.
If I had to pick 1 guy - I go with Dunn.
Dunn is top 5 NATIONALLY in steals and assists, and maybe the best rebounding pg in the country.
He is a better defender, rebounder, passer, etc (scoring edge may go to Hilliard although Dunn averages more ppg).
And if we want to make the MVP debate; NOVA is still a top 15 team without Hilliard. Without Dunn, Providence would fall off a cliff.
To be honest. I think Arch is more valuable to that team that Hilliard.
He has PC positioned to be the #2 team in the conference and is dominant across the board in every aspect of the game.

I think Hilliard put himself ahead of dunn in their last head to head match up.

Dunn is by far the best nba prospect in the league though

His 5-19 (0-9) the past 2 nights has opened the door up for Henton or Dunn I think, providing either of them have 2 big games this week.

I think for Dunn to win, he needs to have two big games this week and PC needs to go 2-0. Another triple double would definitely get his name thrown around more heavily.
