I'm definitely not a supporter of the AAC, South Florida, or Detroit, but I don't really think it says a whole lot. Detroit is a decent mid-major team that has seen its share of success against power conference teams including a win over St. John's within the past few years. It's no shocker to me that they beat South Florida, who finished last in the AAC last season and definitely could again this season.

I stand corrected. :)

Wed night Dec 10th...

This one is especially for all you Jays fans:

Incarnate Word 74, Nebraska 73. <--- at Nebraska.

If i remember correctly, Frankie the Barber had Incarnate Word in his Top-100... guy knows his stuff... our next expansion thread should jokingly include adding these guys, the Cardinals. They've got it all... small, private, Catholic as a bonus, great name, and they'd put us in a new market in San Antonio.

Several games of note:

American:
Couple of games that might be key during Bubble Watch in March:
Nebraska 56, Cincinnati 55, in 2 OT. <--- at Nebraska, coming off loss to Incarnate Word.
Oklahoma State 73, Memphis 55. <--- at Memphis.

UCF's 2nd straight tough loss:
Florida Atlantic 54, Central Florida 41. <--- at UCF on Saturday.
UIC 71, Central Florida 60. <--- at UCF on Thursday.

Some Numbers:
Seattle, from the WAC, is 3-5 this year after beating San Jose State tonight. In their 8 games, they have outrebounded their opponents in 7 of them.
Rebounding numbers for Seattle:
42-21 vs San Jose,
42-40 vs Eastern Wash,
42-33 vs Santa Barbara,
43-36 vs Cal Northridge,
49-44 vs Washington,
51-40 vs Omaha,
31-30 vs Texas State.
Montana had 34 rebounds to Seattle's 31, the only time they lost the category.
Weird that a team that dominates in rebounds can lose so much.

Add Gardner Webb as the latest school to beat a B1G school on their homecourt (Purdue).

12/25

George Washington just beat Wichita State to win the Diamond Head Classic. Good result for Seton Hall as it likely vaults their win over GW into the good win category. The Colonials should finish non-con play at 10-3 (losses all on the road to UVA, SHU, and PSU- who have a combined 3 losses and are unbeaten at home). They were then picked 2nd in the A10 preseason poll, but they've looked every bit as good as VCU so far and could certainly win the conference.
