George Washington lost to Memphis... but VCU is leading SF Austin 52-43 mid-second half so the A-10 will either be 3-3 or 2-4 by the end of this game.

wow, what a collapse by VCU

up by 4 with 4 sec left...for some inexplicable reason, the VCU defender fouls the SFA shooter in the act of shooting the 3, who makes the shot and makes the FT to send it to OT.

Unfathomable loss. That was a freshman play, by a freshman. Terrible, terrible collapse. If it is one things Shaka Smart teams don't do well- is close out games at times.

And people would get upset when they kept pressing late in games.

Currently 2-4 with a strong possibility of having no teams going to the second weekend after tomorrows games. Not the start the A-10 was hoping for, especially with 3 single digit seed teams going out in round 1. I'll be rooting for SLU tomorrow as I'd like to see the AAC shut out after the first weekend.

Let's be honest- A10 is a whisker from being 0-6.

The A-10 is really the MWC of 2014... last year the SOS and RPI leaned heavily in their favor and they went down in flames... much the same struggles so far with the A-10 this year.

A-10 did not have a good first two days and true a whisker away from being 0-6 or 3-3. But A-10 was supposed to go 3-3 based upon seeds so not that far off at 2-4. 2 Wins over Big Ten and ACC. 4 Losses with 2 to AAC + 1 to Southland (yuck) +1 to SEC. So 2-1 BCS schools and 0-2 high major (AAC) and 0-1 other.

BE had an ok first 4 days. Supposed to go 2-2 based upon seeds and went 2-2. Wins over Horizon and Sunbelt and 2 losses to ACC.

BE as a I have stated previously on the Board (despite being a Dayton fan) will most likely have much deeper runs with Creighton and Villanova. A-10 had a bunch of 25-50 teams whereas BE has clear two top 10/20 teams.

Based upon how the committee has selected in the past, 6 for A-10 and 4 for BE was the right decision. http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm -- so far A-10 1 game underperformance at 2-4 and BE right on target at 2-2.

yeah A10 1 game underperformance but could say BE 1/2 under peformance at least with Xavier maybe supposed to win the PIG. What will determine the A10's fate is rd 2. If they can get a team into the sweet 16, that'll be huge. If not, a disappointment in all but the tourney units- they'd get 8.

I think a conference you could say as a disappointment is the Big 12. 4-3 and if you look at rd 3- Baylor and Texas should be dogs, and Iowa St/Kansas have very tough games vs stanford/Michigan.

I'm rooting for both Saint Louis and Dayton, but they have really tough assignments with Louisville and Syracuse. Really happy to see Gonzaga get a win over Oklahoma State.
