UD does not belong on the same court as Xavier, because it doesn't belong in the same conference with Xavier. Spend the next 3 to 4 years making the Dance and going deep in it and do that hanging onto Archie Miller and THEN UD will warrant some consideration - some consideration, because the Dayton media market isn't worth crap - for being included in the Big East.

Yeah right, I'll STFU because a blowhard like you says I should. Having been around the Big East for years, I was always convinced there could never be another fan base as obnoxious as Syracuse's. Got to admit though some of you Xavier guys are managing to close the gap pretty quick.

Say what you want, but the reason Xavier keeps bringing Dayton up proves rivalry. The statements that Dayton doesn't belong on the same conference/court as Xavier when they seemingly have been for the last 200 years is stupid. Dayton does lead the overall series, and recently when Xavier has beaten Dayton, Xavier has had some damn good teams...I don't know of any team in the A10 that won at Xavier with any degree of regularity. I thin in the last 10 meetings, Dayton is 6-4 with one of those games coming in the A10 tournament when Xavier was a #1 seed and lost to Dayton. If that is Xavier's definition of not belonging on the same court, then I am completely lost for words.
Reading some of these posts does make it easy to root against Xavier, if/when that game is ever played again.

The games have been very physical and we even had a double technical the last time we played. At the end of our last game Stainbrook waved goodbye to the SJU fans who were leaving which a lot of Johnny fans have been talking about on twitter. Also seeing how X fans on here talk to and about others leads me to not like them much.
I don't think geography will play a role in how rivalries develop in this league. It's a round robin conference schedule so playing everyone twice will take care of who doesn't like who.
Not based on ancient history, just with how things have been going this is how i see my SJU rivalries turning out.

I think you said it all when you mentioned that you personally don't like Xavier, but your comment about how Xavier fans "talk to and about others" is lame, unless what I just wrote also is upsetting to you. Most of the back and forth here has involved trolling UD fans. Otherwise, I believe the Xavier posters around here have been respectful of their new league members.
For that matter, regardless of your individual feelings, I like St. Johns and I want them to do well, especially for the benefit of the conference. And yes, if the round robin holds up for a while, geography probably will not necessarily define how the stronger rivalries will develop, although the C7 already have a lot of history together.

My opinion about the X posters came to fruition long before this thread.
