At this point SH has three bad losses on its record. PC's losses aren't really bad.

Neither have a lot of good wins.

PC's best win is Vandy right now. SH'sbest win is Providence.

Seems like it would be virtually impossible for either to get into at large consideration without running the BE table.

Our OOC was crap and did us no favors. While I do not believe SHU needs to run the table they do need an over .500 showing as well as a deep Big East Tourney run to make people forget about the beginning of the season disasters. This also depends on the health of our guys. We haven't played at full strength for quite some time. If we were in the discussion for an at-large bid (a VERY large if there!) then hopefully that would factor in to the decission.

RPI will kill Seton Hall. If they got to 12-6- making it 21-10 their RPI is projected to be 58th. Would likely need 2 BET wins to make the tourney. Just don't see them winning 13 more games this year.

Our season is considered over by some because we thought we could mask and hide and overcome our weaknesses, and that is becoming unlikely or impossible. Seton Hall showed everyone that. We will still win some games most likely. But we have no cavalry coming over the hill to save us. Our bench is too thin. This last loss happened less than 72 hours after another demoralizing OT loss, at UMass. We have tough kids with a lot of heart, so anything is possible, but talking probabilities, we're in a tough spot.

One thing with PC is their upcoming scheduele right now...
@ Villanova
Georgetown
@ St John's
Creighton
Butler
Xavier
@ Marquette
@ DePaul

of those 8 games, Ken Pom has PC going 2-6- beating Butler and DePaul only. Think that Georgetown game could be a make or break type of game quite frankly- a loss there and they could have lost 4 in a row heading into St John's. It's goign to be a huge test right now for them I think.

Exactly my thoughts. The last hope was that we could put a bandaid on the weaknesses vs. the bottom half of the BE and hopefully end up somewhere in the middle of the conference. The close game vs. UMass gave a little more hope despite the loss. This no longer seems possible.

You may be right. At this point, given our injuries and deplorable OOC I would be thrilled with the NIT. Still, there is a lot of basketball to be played and anything can happen. Who knows, maybe we get healthy and hot at the same time and just win the tourney crown and auto-bid! I can dream, right?

I feel bad for PC (not because of our win, that I'm fine with) because at the beginning of the season there was so much promise and it looked like they finally turned the corner but then Dunn got hurt and they had the issue with their freshmen. The frustration from their fans is certainly understandable. Hopefully they can still have a good run.

just looking at my post, that Georgetown game was huge. don't think PC would be where they are if they had lost that game quite frankly.
