Actually, Xavier has a chance of making it to the Tournament if they can find four more wins somewhere. With five wins, it becomes much more likely. They only have four guaranteed games left, though, so that's a really tall task. My post was still mostly in jest because of that.

All the same, that's crazy, considering where they were a couple weeks ago.

The team has been playing well the last few weeks. Unfortunately it probably started a little too late. If we win out (@Johnies @Butler and Johnies at home) and then win two games in the Big East Tournament we will be in the conversation. But even in the unlikely event that happens It will be diffficult for us to make the cut, even assuming no bid thieves.

Ill be rooting for the Muskies hard on Thursday but trying to knock of St. John's will not easy. St. John's has given X trouble and is a better team than the last few years. X probably has a 1 in 4 chance of winning in NYC, if they manage to do that I think we could claim we are a long shot bubble team

Like I said, a really tall task. A bracket projection I saw somewhere gave them a 2.2% chance. They might be able to do it with just one win in the tournament, though, if they win out.

I'm confused as to what you are saying for NYC. Are you saying a 1 in 4 shot to win the BET? Or to win a single game? Because those odds for the former are way too high and those for the latter are way too low.

Yeah, that's fair lol. I agree it is technically possible, but extremely unlikely. X's NET is 86 and they don't have many good wins. I think 5 may be needed, which means winning the next 3 and then getting to the BET finals. At that point, winning the BET becomes a lot easier than winning 3 BE games and then 2 BET games. 3 games vs 5. Xavier's most likely path to the NCAA is still winning the BET outright. Personally, if St. John's can't win the BET then I'd like to see a team like X or Georgetown win it.

As for the regular season, if you guys were playing against teams like DePaul your final games then sure why not, I'd root for you. But since you'll be playing bubble teams St. John's and Butler in the final games, and then possibly another bubble team in the Tournament, I hope Xavier saves their improved play for next year lol.

I understand X fans rooting for X, but for the rest of us the league would be far better off if Butler and St. John's beat them. I'd like if X were close to the bubble right now, but I don't think they are anywhere near it.

The Xavier resurgence started at halftime in Providence. XU looked horrible in the first half

Not sure what happened. Was it a new thing to play Tyrique and Hankins together? Nothing else looked different other than you were drilling 95% of your shots (not including the.72 dunks).

Imagine the possibilities if X can ever put two good halves together. :D

Oh yeah, it's definitely in the conference's interest to root against Xavier. St. John's might survive getting swept by X, but they might have to win a BET game to be safe. Butler is right on that edge where they just need to win games.
