Memphis beats Iowa. Helps PC out obviously, but hurts SH.

Utah Valley has Xavier's Brandon Randolph who score 21, had 14 assist and 9 rebounds.

Hard to win games when you don't make a shot outside of 5 feet in the second half and overtime(not an exaggeration, actual stat from the game.) since they won it's just another game in the win category that nobody will even look at by tournament time but if they lost it would have been in that bad loss category all season.

Losing to Missouri on a neutral court would have been a bad loss by itself. Losing to Missouri this season as game 1 of a tournament would have been even worse because it would have put Xavier into the loser's bracket.

yeah those 1st games are always huge. Instead of getting Clemson and Northern Iowa would have gotten stuck best case with Davidson and Arizona St. Not as huge of a difference as say it was for Seton Hall, but a difference none the less.

Xavier has definitely realized the difficulties of those tournaments. In Mack's first 6 seasons he went 7-11 with losses including UTEP, Long Beach State X2, Old Dominion, Pacic, USC, and Hawaii. Thankfully Xavier has gone 6-0 in the last two years.

yeah, I remember the 1st year of the NBE where X cratered in Atlantis to Iowa, Tennessee, and USC. Came so close to costing X a tourney bid that year.
