Then they went down 26. Impossible to make that comeback without everything going your way. As it is, Georgetown was never really threatened.

It's one thing to lose big to Georgetown, it's another thing for it to take 2 and a half hours. Can't be a quick death?

No, it's not technically over in the first half. But Georgetown was up by 26 points, and I felt Villanova wasn't gonna come back and win from that kind of deficit. Then, it was on the road with the crowd wildly into it.

It wasn't an inevitable task, but a big task, nonetheless. I thought Villanova blew their chance around the 8 minute mark. They had two chances to cut into a 12-point deficit, but threw the ball away on both possessions. Georgetown proceeded to go up by 16, and that was the ball game.

The silver lining is that Georgetown fans acknowledged that Villanova is the better basketball program by storming the court.

Awesome win! Love seeing the kids get into it and storm the court. We don't have our nose up in the air and be like - "act like you've been there before." Hope we continue to play like that the rest of the year.

Congrats on the win. Those freshmen are going to be a handful going forward.

impressive win by gtown. this is why i picked them to finish 2nd. their freshmen were impressive and are only going to get better.

villanova's weakness is the production out of their big. ochefu and pinkston struggled against uconn's legit size last year and they were relegated to shooting jump shots. same thing happened in this game. gtown's size and athleticism really bothered ochefu and pinkston.

Most intensity I've seen from G'twn all year. They let them play in the first half and G'twn punched Nova in the mouth and Nova had no answer. They did not match their physicality or intensity. Good win Hoyas. Looking forward to the rematch.

Jays, you might be getting a very upset team next. Both for this performance tonight and for last year's vs CU.

What's worse is hoyahooligan with his uber-homerism and blinders will think Georgetown is a national title contender after tonight's game.

Hey I resent that! I thought they were a national title contender long before this game! :D

yeah, I feel bad for what Villanova may do to Creighton on Sunday.

Georgetown really developing a good home court advantage. 10-3 in BE play with the new conference- to 3-11 away from home. Only Xavier really compares with that big of a difference home/away- 10-2 at home to 4-10 away. Nova and PC now the only 2 teams in the new big east to have winning conference road records- Nova is 9-3 and PC is 7-6.

Thoughts on the georgetown game:

1. The atmosphere was electric. Kudos to the gtown fans who packed that place for a 9pm monday night tip. Looks like the start of something good in DC. And I liked that the students rushed the court. Shows some passion in the fan base.

2. As a nova fan, I'm not too upset. Nova needs to get tested a few times this year to prep for march. This and the shu losses don't bother me. Road losses to the other contenders are supposed to happen. I actually really liked how the team fought back in the second half.

3. From a conference perspective, this was a good result. This is the win that either moves gtown safely into the tourney or gets them creeping off that 8/9 game line and into the safely wearing white in the first round type of seeds.

4. The officiating was brutal. I'm not complaining that it was unbalanced or cost nova the game, as it was not. But it was just brutal. And it has been in conference play thus far. I hate all the soft fouls on the perimeter and fouls called on incidental contact in the post. Let the kids play.

5. Georgetown has some solid talent on their roster, and they appear to be putting it together. They have a chance to win some games in March.

6. FOX SPORTS ONE, brilliant as always. Loved the pre-game show. The meet the team segments they are running, the onion report, etc.. this really is fantastic commitment from our media distribution partner. Best coverage that these ten teams have ever received. And the ratings keep getting better. Looks like we found a real nice home.

That game was a fun battle. What big east hoops is all about.
