Did we watch the same game? A one man team? Boatright and Giffey blocked and rebounded the hell out of the board keeping 'Nova one and done much of the game. Napier and Daniels were deadly inside and out -- at one point points off the bench were 17-0 for UConn.

The game was just ugly for Villanova 31 3-point attempts and made 11 of them. No bench points. It wasn't even as close as the 12-point game in the second half.

Napier was the difference. UConn took control when he drained those incredible 30 footers with maybe 12 minutes left. Before then they had a bunch of lead changes. The guy was amazing. UConn deserved a higher seed that #7... they beat Florida and had some good wins all year.

I've seen UConn play numerous times this year. They aren't you typical UConn team that you saw under Calhoun. When Napier doesn't play well they are bad. He played really well tonight.

Napier only played 8 mins of the first half and yet UConn was leading at the half - so they can't be TOO terrible without him.

Disappointing loss for us and the league. Those who said Nova beat up on a mediocre league all season seem validated. Nova didn't face teams with UConn's athletes most of the year (PC had Cotton, who is a stud, but Napier is even better, and he has a little more help, and St. John's is athletic but a mess) and it showed.

I don't have a problem taking so many threes, the issue is how the threes are shot. Nova is a good shooting team when they're getting open looks off ball movement. Far too often, they just jacked threes early in the shot clock off the dribble. Offense was crap today, and they couldn't finish near the hoop either.

Nova beat up on a mediocre league? Come on. They beat Kansas and Iowa.

What do you think UConn was doing all year. They weren't playing in the ACC. St. Joe's took UConn into OT. Villanova beat St.Joe's by 30. UConn had to work to beat Temple on the road. Won by 13, but the game was single digits in the last minute. Villanova won @Temple by 26. UConn lost to a god awful Houston team.

This was just one of those games that happens in the tournament. It was UConn's night and it wasn't Villanova's. On a different night, the results would have been different.

As for the 3's, they were on fire from 3 at one point in the game. They scored 33 points off those 31 3's plus 3 FT's that Arcidiacono made after getting fouled on one of those FT attempts. That's 36 points off 31 3-point attempts. There 'so nothing wrong with that.

I think your 2nd point is the key. They couldn't finish near the hoop. This should have been a game in which Pinkston dominated inside. UConn has no beef up front to stop him. He should have demanded the ball - especially when UConn went small. Nova should have made them pay of that. UConn really hustled. It's criminal that Giffey and Boatright were able to combine for 16 rebounds.

Yet head-to-head UConn curb-stomped 'Nova.

Curb stomped them? Are you serious? You obviously didn't watch the game. It was 5 points with a minute to go.

Villanova hasn't played a team that can defend as well as UConn can since Syracuse. I don't think they were used to the consistent defensive pressure and rushed their offense largely as a result.

Nova messed up my bracket. Had them advancing. UConn didn't impress me all that much then something ignited them in the NOVA game. Oh well back to the drawing boards.
