The Georgetown/Butler game last Saturday drew 1.1 million viewers....

2 games on Saturday on ESPN beat Georgetown/Butler.
3 more games on Saturday on ESPN beat Villanova/Marquette.

Heck- Villanova was in only about 147k viewer homes in their game vs Xavier on FS1, than they were on Saturday vs Marquette on Fox.... Let that settle with you some...

Bottom line, being on Network TV means a whole hell of a lot less than it does in college football. Wait until a few weeks from now. Last year 7 of the top 10 rated games for the entire season were on cable. And the 3 games that were on CBS- 2 of them were the Big Ten tourney. Of the 7 games that were on ESPN- 2 of them were the ACC and SEC tourney finals. So of the top 6 rated regular season games, 5 were ESPN.

It may be a bigger event to the students for a game to be on network TV, but being on network TV doesn't guarantee at all whatsoever a better rating than being on ESPN. It NEVER has in college basketball. Do I need to remind you the best rated game of ALL TIME in college basketball- Georgetown/St John's, 1985, was on ESPN?

Blah blah blah

The fact that you would compare a big Monday game to a big fox Saturday game shows what a fool you are

I've seen my team play dozens and dozens of big Monday games. There is simply no comparison. P
But you are an AAC troll who has never seen your team play either, so you have no perspective at all.

The numbers don't lie. It may be a bigger event. But the ratings are at least as good if not better for being on ESPN. It's just not like football. You watch. The game that is most watched today will be North Carolina/Duke. on ESPN.

I don't care about the ratings. They are close enough. I care about the big picture. Espn puts grass growing on and they draw a million viewers. Doesn't mean anybody is actually watching. Just means the channel is on at some bars.

Anyway, the Miami game right now isn't even on television. Not even espn news. The acc does not have a better iverall TV deal than the big east. It does if you are Duke or unc or a projected top tea, but not for everyone else.

wait a second. ESPN's 2 games beat every game on Saturday on network tv? How is that possible? I thought network games were just so far ahead of cable games.

I know what you are trying to say, but it's' North Carolina vs. Duke in PRIMETIME.

ESPN gets good ratings no matter what the games. I wouldn't say Louisville/UVA is a profound game, yet it beat everything else on Saturday.

The fact is there is next to no difference being on ESPN or being on network tv. There just isn't.

ESPN games get better ratings. But the network games are more visible to non-die hard basketball fans and are better exposure for the school. I don't care what the ratings actually are.

Stever will never understand this though.

Just drop it man. We are with FOX for another 10 years. There is no point rehashing for the 1000th time how great ESPN is. Maybe you should worry about your Hoyas, there is more than enough there to occupy your time.
