Diggins had offers from Nova, SH and X before picking UConn.

“A combination of (wanting to play) closer to home, a little bit more playing time,” John Mosco, Diggins’ coach at Archbishop Wood in Philadelphia, explained. “He wasn’t chased out. It was ‘Sool’s decision. Danny (Hurley) wanted him to stay.”

To no one's surprise, Gaffney also hits the portal. Neither one was ready to take over the starting PG position, and Hurley let both know he was looking elsewhere.

He wasn't chased out because Hurley doesn't chase players out. But Hurley was honest in letting him know he wasn't gonna see much of the court next season or thereafter.

As expected. The announcement to watch here is Cole.

Cole announced on Twitter that he is declaring for the NBA draft.

I never watched RJ Cole and thought “man, that’s an NBA player”. I hope it works out for him but I have my doubts.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I guess that non-guard was Akok. None of the departures really hurt, but Uconn is left with only 5 players atm with 2 of them being incoming freshman. Hurley has work to do.

Tristan Newton is a big time get for the Huskies.....great length and eye popping numbers. You guys now have a potential top of the conference backcourt.
Wisdom is what you get 5 seconds after you needed it.

Update:

OUTGOING: Diggins, Gaffney, Floyd, AKOK, Garry (walk-on)

INCOMING: NEWTON, guard (still not yet public), another guard (formerly known as the 3rd guard's top 2)
