Same thing. Is Marquette just playing really well or have we given Providence too much credit in the early part of the season.

I don't think it's the second one, Providence has been incredibly consistent. Could be a case of overconfidence and not being fully focused though. That's usually a recipe for taking a beating in this league

Marquette is playing great. Great passing, air-tight defense. We're very flat. Maybe we stayed out in Chicago too long after the DePaul game, ha ha.

By the way, AJ Reeves is out for 2 weeks. Coincidentally he will have missed both our losses.

Marquette came out in the second half and dropped the hammer too.

Marquette needed this one given after the next 2 they have a 7 game stretch as tough as you're ever gonna see....
Seton Hall
@ Nova
Xavier
@ Seton Hall
@ Providence
Villanova
@ UConn

Yikes. a stretch of 14 games where the only "easy" games are @ Georgetown and home to DePaul. Everyone else in the top 30 in the country.

Tons of credit to Marquette for being absolutely ruthless tonight, but you don't win this big in this league without your opponent having a poor game and it's just not PC's night.

Shaka making up for not fouling Creighton. Lewis certainly an All-BE contender.

But from 127 to 139

Marq from 83 to 57!
Prov from 24 to 33

Just saw this on twitter-
March 2, 2013: Shaka Smart's unranked VCU team beats No. 20 Butler by 32
Tonight: Smart's unranked @MarquetteMBB team beats No. 16 Providence by 32

He's the only head coach in the last 40 years to lead 2 different unranked teams to a 30-point win over an AP-ranked opponent.
