Pretty complete game from Creighton. Balanced scoring attack and defense was good.

For them, their goal is clear, find a way to finish top 6 in conference and get that first round bye in BET. And then win the whole damn thing. Cause they are certainly good enough

Are they good enough though? They've won 4 conference games. The combined conference record of those 4 teams is 8-19, with only Marquette better than 2-5. The big OOC vs Texas doesn't look so great. Plus with where they would be (likely 6 seed) would quite possibly have to beat in 3 straight days the 3,2,1 seeds.

I am curious how the scouts view Gill, too. I am surprised that he's already 25.

I think so. Nobody said it would be easy, but they were impressive last night even in the loss. There's a reason the Friars were picked by some to win this league. They have the talent, it just took a little longer than expected to put it all together.

Is this accurate? I don't recall anyone picking PC to win the league.

I know Matt Norlander (CBS) did. He may be the only one.

Your memory serves you well, Hall.

Ranking every college basketball team from No. 1 to 353 for 2019-20 and an interesting fact on every team - Matt Norlander, CBS - October 22, 2019
Matt Norlander's annual extravaganza of looking at all 353 teams is back for the 2019-20 season

15. Providence
- Here's the first 'whoa-whoa-whoa' ranking. Yes, I have the Providence Freakin' Friars this high. I think the top of the Big East could wind up being shared by PC, Villanova and Seton Hall. Ed Cooley's coaching credibility increases by the season, and a season after missing the NCAAs for the first time since 2013, I think PC is going to ricochet right back to national relevancy. Alpha Diallo is a top-50 player in college hoops, and the roster isn't shy on confidence. UMass grad transfer Luwane Pipkins might be a top-100 player in college basketball, too; he'll run point, and be a big upgrade after last season. Nate Watson, A.J. Reeves, David Duke and Maliek White fill out a top-six that I think is the best in the Big East.

17. Villanova
23. Seton Hall
36. Xavier
45. Georgetown
52. Marquette
54. Connecticut
56. Creighton
67. Butler
87. DePaul
111. St. John's

I disagree with the AP recap's claim of a "sub-par" game by Powell last night. I actually thought he was great. Sure, he didn't put up his usual numbers, but PC's defensive focus was clearly all about not letting Powell beat them and I thought he did a great job of letting his teammates take advantage rather than force the issue like he's had a tendency to do in the past. He only took 6 shots! When he's happy to just act as a decoy when defenses over-play on him, the Hall is gonna be tough to beat. When defenses start to respect his teammates, they're gonna leave Powell more space and lookout!

Hall fans,
What is the opinion of Willard up there in NJ?
"When you lose a program like Creighton, there's no sugarcoating it," Valley Commissioner Doug Elgin said. "It's a devastating loss. They're going to go on and have success in the league they've joined." Yahoo Sports, October 10, 2013.

Great player development, improving Xs and Os, iffy recruiter. Most importantly, his players love him. There's still haters in our fan base that only show up when we lose to bash him, but overall I'd say he's got a pretty good approval rating. Unfortunately, I think a lot of our fans won't truly appreciate how good he is until he leaves.
