Koby Mcewan.

15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in the MWC and was redshirting this year. Did you just assume he didn't have a replacement?

Oh yea i forgot about him haha. Still i would rather him recruit 4star players and have them develop then bring in transfers.

Agree that next year the league will be stacked. Friars only major contributor loss will be Jackson. If Emmitt Holt is granted a sixth year of eligibility he could be an x factor providing he is healthy. Add in four star recruit Gregg Gantt with Cooley trying to bring another point guard the friars should be greatly improved.

Don't mind it for guys like Rowsey, Morrow and Mcewan. They red shirt and still give 2 playing years to the program, so it's still a decent amount of time to develop and such. I agree with you about grad transfers like Carlino (though he was the lone bright spot that year) katin (as helpful as he was) and now chartouny (even though Elliott's injury made him necessary)

Looks like a lot of people here will be very surprised when we lose the ENTIRE 1st team All BE and most of the 2nd. Not to mention guys like Krampelj and Heron. Most of the top talent in THIS conference aspire to play at the next level out of high school. Throw in to what degree they enjoy the student/athlete experience as a reason to leave early.

The time is now for Powell, Ponds, Howard and even Baldwin. What else do they have to prove at this level? All four should get 2nd round consideration, if not the G League is growing fast along with 2 way money.......better $$$ overseas as well.

Howard was a High school valedictorian, so he values education.
Howard is the leader of the fellowship of christian athletes on campus so he's a part of campus life.
Howard is one of two basketball players on the NCAA oversight committee so he's involved in college ball on a pretty high level.

He'd be a fool not to declare and get feedback but if he only hears 2nd round (not guaranteed money in case you didn't know) I would bet my arm he'd be back.

There is guaranteed money in the NBA 2nd round, although there is a limit to how deep it goes. Both Miami's Bruce Brown and CU's Khyri Thomas got guaranteed money in the 2nd round.

So, what exactly do you think is funny? Powell was arguably the best guard in the country down the stretch. His 2 BET performances were off the chart......guy is NBA GOOD right now!!

I'd expect us to cut down that learning curve pretty significantly. I think we'll be a safe tourney team. We lose Hankins, Welage, and Castlin, which is a loss, but return our 4 leading scorers and we'll have a lot more talent coming off the bench. Should be a dangerous team. 5-7 seed.

To be specific, what I was thinking was an improvement from being a fringe bubble team. 5-7 seed range would surprise me, as it seems like half the rotation will be freshmen.
