Also being reported that Jay's top assistant, Baker Dunleavy, has been offered both the Stony Brook and Delaware jobs. Could be a total gut job in terms of the coaching staff.

That said, my gut feel is that Jay will stay if Phoenix is the only NBA opportunity out there. They have some talent, but that franchise is a bit of a train wreck at the moment.

What makes you think that? For detail-oriented coaches who want to be in total control and who are also naturally gifted salesmen I would assume they love it. Look at Saban, how did he do coaching a bunch of inherited millionaires in Miami vs. kids with whom he had met in their homes with their parents on each side with nothing but the dream of making it big? Do you really think Coach Cooley is making it up when he tells the stories of how he felt he was a true kindred spirit with Dunn?

I have absolutely no idea why successful college coaches go to the NBA. Every time it happens Coach K, Izzo, etc. just keep looking smarter and smarter.

I obviously like seeing Billy D succeed since he is a Friar, but I'd say he's done what was expected. He walked into a situation that was pretty hard to mess up.

Stevens on the other hand has looked great.

Jay on the issue of the NBA below. Sounds like he is happy where he is.

I think coaches would much rather spend their time doing things other than constantly calling these kids up and checking in with them every day. I think they would much rather have talent given to them instead of having to travel to watch these kids constantly and keep up with what happens with them every day when 90% of them end up going somewhere else where in the NBA you get talent without having no to kiss up to 16-18 year olds every day.

So my post that Jay Wright has responded to the NBA rumors can't get through moderation?
